sorry about not being specific on the prices range. there really isn't one. I have no problem spening hat ever it cost for the best rods. I have seen the gloomis and st. croix inthe 200-230 range and that is fine. I have been using ugly sticks and they were working fine for most of the fishing I as doing which was ponds and rivers. thanks in advance.

SO i fished my first tournament as ac o-angler last week at Smith Mnt. Lake. I think I did alright, I caught the day one big bass for co-anglers, 4 lb 7oz, ended up finishing 30th after zero'ing the next two days. I fished with David Dudley on the last day and after the 2d fish shook off my line he commented that I might want to think about getting some new rods. Well i agree. and boy, can that man fish! So I need some recomendations. I'm thinking GLoomis or St. Croix, but not sure which models or if there are any other higher end rod makers that I should be looking at. I fish with spinning reels, Stradic 2500's mostly, and that won't change for the next couple of years. I am slowly learning to use a bait caster, but won't swith over for a couple of more years and even then not totaly. My style of fishing is mostly spinner baits, worms, few cranks, but I will be adding more jigs after watching dudley fish Thanks in advance.
