Questinon about good old St.croix Premier
Oh, sorry. I'm talking about european perch. Ultra-light or light rods are widely common here, especially while targeting perch, but vast majority of them are spinning rods, not casting as a premier i mentioned above. Considering the sad fact that there is no bass in my local waters, i want to build something like a small copy of bass fisherman's tackle suited for local perch. My personal favorite technique is cranking (we are using small crankbaits like a Rapala Shad Dancer, which is 3/16 oz.), so that's why i laid my eyes on st.croix premier - as i remember , premier LM rods has a nice, forgiving tip action. But my expirience based on one single spinnig model that i owned in childhood Not big as Swiss, unfortunately... More like modest-sized to be honest. Thak you for respond! And what lures do you prefer to fish with on this rod?

Questinon about good old St.croix Premier
Have a good opportunity to pick up on sale St.Croix Premier PC60MLF2, which i'm planning to use on my local ponds and creeks targeting perch. Does anybody own this stick? My question is about versatility of this rod: how it works with soft plastics on small jig heads, small crankbaits and topwater lures?

Shimano zodias BFS or ML?
Thank you! So ML will be ok... And what about chronarch cI4+? Is it capable of casting this weights (1/8 oz + 2-3" plastics)?

Shimano zodias BFS or ML?
Hi everyone! I want to try bass fishing techniques (jigs, worms, etc) targeting for perch on my local waters . I've got a chronarch ci4+ baitcast reel and a medium power rod (1/4 - 1 oz.) more suited for jerkbaiting with 100-110 sized wobblers, which is, in my opinion, overpowered for perch. There are two good options i found: one is zodias 168L-BFS/2 (4 - 12 gr.) and zodias 1610-ML/2 (5 - 15 gr.). Planning to use weights from 1/8 up to 3/8 oz. Never tried to fish with soft plastics before. Perch baits coming from 2" to 3" inches long, some times bigger, some times smaller - crawfishes and other creature baits, so they have their own weght + weight i menthioned before. Here is a question: do i need bfs rod for this kind of application or i can choose the medium light and put my chronarch reel on? Because if bfs is only the way, i need one more reel... ps: sorry for my bad english.
