  1. Being as how my home lake supports all three, I just fish for whatever one decides to bite what I'm tossing at the time. But if I have to pick one....LM.
  2. I've used a Caenan for a couple of years now. After a couple of trips it got very noisy on the cast. If I had it to do over again, I'd have opted for the BPS Pro Qualifier at only $10 more retail.
  3. JMO of course, but the best bass fishing magazine comes out once a year.....In-Fisherman's Bass Fishing Annual.....and if Steve Quinn writes most of the articles (like this year), it's that much better.
  4. I have an old chrome/black Super Spot that looks like it got into a battle with a roll of concertina wire.....and lost. Paint is gone from the nose to the eyes, sides have tooth marks up the kazoo, along with various other scratches, nicks, etc. That lure still catches 'em, with or without a perfect paint job.
  5. Here ya go. It's outtakes from BPS commercials, along with some Bill Dance bloopers. Make sure you watch the whole thing.
  6. Absolutely my favorite too. Run a YouTube search for KVD and check out the 9 minute blooper video with him and Stacey King using the chicken for an alarm clock. It's hilarious.
  7. Some good looking colors, supposedly it has a very erratic action when twitched on retrieve. There is a video of KVD talking about it on another website. I believe I'll most likely pick up a couple of these.
  8. What he said. In my younger days, about 5 hours was all I needed. These days at least 7. Trouble is, I don't always sleep that well...
  9. The new KVD jerkbait from SK looks promising. Other than that.....meh......
  10. Can't answer for the shark, but a resounding for the walleye (followed very closely by yellow perch/crappie).
  11. I've got a TomTom with free map upgrades. Never had it fail me yet.
  12. If the bottom is rocky, then I use a football shakey. Otherwise, a ball head is fine. My favorite shakey worm is the Hag's Tornado. Also use Davis Shakeyhead Worms and Zoom Trick Worms.
  13. Spring thru fall, it's from "light enough to see" until the sun smacks the water. Love topwaters then, along with lipless cranks.
  14. Even on a lake like Kentucky Lake it's easy to get skunked from time to time. This year, I've done my best when on my way back to the ramp and saw a spot that drew me in for one last shot, and I loaded up.
  15. I started playing golf when I was 8. Cost then was $1.25 for 9 holes...2.50 for 18. No carts...had to walk. I worked the last 12 years on a golf course here in west TN, and that just about soured me on golf for the rest of my life. When i got into bass fishing, crankbaits were about $1.25 each. 'Nuff said.
  16. We have our a/c-furnace serviced twice a year. Once in the spring for the a/c, and again when the weather cools off in the fall. Helps prevent major break-downs when you need it the most. For power outages, we had a Generac stand-by generator installed that runs off of natural gas. Power goes out.....generator starts up. Power comes back on....generator shuts off. Nope, it wasn't cheap, but the peace of mind is priceless.....
  17. It might just be the luck of the draw, but I regularly fish Ky Lake (lots of snakes), and I have never, ever, seen a bass even take a swipe at a snake. Me, I'd be leery of snake lures just for that reason.
  18. If you're going to NW Pa., contact Darl Black, Cochranton, Pa. Darl is an outdoor writer who writes for In-Fisherman, BASSMaster, and several other magazines. He used to guide and if he can't take you I'm sure that he can put you with someone who would.
  19. I finally got mine yesterday......2/0 worm hooks. I don't use a 2/0 for anything.
  20. In a pinch, I've also used it for lipless cranks and even squarebills on occasion. Not my first rod of choice for these.
  21. I actually have...and use....and like...the W&M Skeet Reese Worm/Spinnerbait rod. I wouldn't use it for worms, but it's just right (for me) for spinnerbaits. It also makes a decent rod for throwing Spooks.
  22. Fishing related questions, please. I don't give a hoot about their favorite music/food/hobbies or whatever.

I must have gotten the only dud in the lot. The one I bought barely walks at all. I think I'll stick to my spooks, spittin' images, etc.....
  24. There's been more than one GOOD bass fishing show that's fallen by the wayside that would make good fare for WFN, Outdoor Channel, or the Sportsman's Channel. Larry Nixon's show was one of the best ever on the tube IMO. Gettin' Schooled was another. Classic Patterns is gone, at least for this year, and so, apparently, is Lost Lake. (Meaning no new shows forthcoming).
