Jig Trailers?
so basically jigs are pretty much just for craws and craw like imitation. well of course and paddle tails for swim jigs and chatter baits. would any of you guys ever fish a senko as a jig trailer? maybe like a 2" senko? or do you think that would be dumb because it has no action?

New to the bass Fishing
If you are unsure there are fish in a lake or pond the best place to start is the good old worm (live worm) and bobber. that will tell you if there are any fish there. I would say go to your "confidence" lures but since you both are new stick to a worm and bobber. if there is you'll probably be catching bluegill with that set up. But where there's bluegill there are bass (most of the time)

Jig Trailers?
So I'm starting to get into Jigs after using chatter baits and was wondering what kind of trailers do you guys like to throw? Craws? straight tail worms? Paddle tail worms? I know the possibilities are endless but was just wondering what works best for you guys? what do you guys like? Does water clarity play a factor in your trailer choice? Does water clarity play a factor in when you would throw a jig?? I'm kind of new to jigs so any and all information is going to be helpful

Flouro knot strength?
it could be the brand of FC your using. or it could just be your not wetting your knots before tightening them down.Or (this is what I really think it is) You are letting the knot rub to much on itself. Use a improved clinch knot but when you start to tighten it just use your fingers to push the knot down to the hook (or lure) the more the FC rubs on itself the weaker it gets, Its very dense and with break if it is compressed on itself. So use the improved clinch knot. wet it really really REALLY good, and slide it down to the hook then tighten it. Good luck!!

Spinning Combos
not on your list but consider getting the Lew's American hero from Walmart. its $40 dollars and its not a bad set up. IM6 Rod and a 5 bearing spinning reel. Its my finesse setup right now.

Help: Reel + Line Combo
Either: 1) You put the line on in the wrong direction. make sure you put the line on the same direction the reel is spinning 2) you have to much line on and its overflowing off your reel when you flip the bail 3) take your spool off after you have the line on and dip it in hot (not boiling) water for 5minutes this helps the line gain memory onto your spool as for line twist I usually use 20lbs braid with a KVD 18lb swivel and a fluorocarbon leader on all my spinning rods. it keeps line twist down and I have the cast ability and ease of braid with the invisibility of fluorocarbon. Best of luck to you!

Left Hand Retrieve VS Right Hand Retrieve
Thank you everyone for your input! I see a lot of reason on why to use a right hand retrieve and why to use a left hand one. I guess for me growing up on spinning reels the left hand retrieve is more natural. not to mention that I feel like setting the hook and doing finesse stuff would be better suited for my dominate hand. I still want to learn how to use both because I know majority of the bait cast companies only make right hand ones I have already lost 2 fish on a jig because of poor hook sets from my left hand and I guess being ambidextrous would be great so I can use almost anything. I also read somewhere that bait casters were made right handed because back in the day that's how the crappy spin cast reels were and I guess that's just how everyone thought a bait caster should be.

Left Hand Retrieve VS Right Hand Retrieve
LMAO I know some people who are like that lol

Left Hand Retrieve VS Right Hand Retrieve
So this has been on my mind for awhile now, along with some other things but I'm wondering why people use right hand retrieve reels when they switch hands after they cast??? Wouldn't it make more sense to use a left hand retrieve??
