  2. you are absolutely over weight for that power pole. Between boat, motor, and person in the boat you are probably already at 1500 pounds. With a full gas tank and a full livewell you are definitely over weight not including tackle
  3. obviously the aluminum and fiberglass are hard to compare. totally two different types of boats. I would go aluminum. I like that you get all the same features as a glass boat, it is light weight, smaller motor and get some good speed out of it. there are plenty of aluminum boats out there check them all out. check this link out http://mercurynewsroom.com/gustafson-cox-put-forrest-wood-cup-hopes-on-aluminum-boats-powered-by-mercury-225-pro-xs-200-verado/
  4. I picked up one of these lew's carbon fire bait caster from dicks sporting goods. I think it is a special model made for dicks only. I have not been able to find it anywhere else. For the price it is a great reel. http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=34584166
  5. Thanks for the info. I have been running quantums and have thinking about a change.
  6. thanks for all the tips, very helpful
  7. I have been using Castaway rods with Quantum reels. I am looking at The mach I combo 7 foot med/heavy for cranking
  8. I have done a bunch of research and was wondering what the everyone thinks about the Lews rod and reels? Thanks
