Whopper Plopper saved the day!
Less invasive, yet just as effective as the original, the River2Sea Whopper Plopper Silent delivers the same signature topwater disruption as its noisy brother, minus the internal acoustics. Perfect for targeting pressured and easily spooked fish, the River2Sea Whopper Plopper Silent features a stickbait style front-half and a rotating backside, which delivers a heavy sputter as it moves across the surface. straight from site..

Whopper Plopper saved the day!
i'm glad you guys are seeing action with the WP. I picked up 2 90's(Monkey Butt, Rainbow) about a month ago, with not a hit in site haha .. running them on 6'6 Shimano Sojurn M/H fast action and Stradic4000 FK lined woth 10# PP. This thing makes quite a splash first thing in the morning! Sporadic retrieves (fast, slow, jerk ,pop/pause) to no avail! my temps may be a tad high for top waters right now 85+ runs very well though, i like the lure action ...seems irresistible , can't wait for a fish to agree with me congrats on a great day!

Is it wierd to like skirted jigs even though I've never caught a fish with one?
same , primarily a Tex rig guy , have a ton of jigs and ceremoniously throw them when it's slow without any success but i feel like it should be a hot bait for me ... now i'm trying a 4' worm for a trailer..lol

Dumb You Tube Fishing Stuff
i'm old , 50 yrs to be exact. Have been bank fishing for about 40 of them. Thought i had this bass fishing thing figured out with my deadly 4in power worms Tex. style. Usually caught fish , get skunked occasionally. Never a big tv watcher, so exposure to the Houston's and Parker's of the day. Now i have a couple kayaks and needed to get some upgraded equipment, my kid says check out youtube. So i do, shakyheads, nedrigs? dropshotting?( have experience with this , but called something else at the time) i probably would have never heard of these techniques without the youtube machine. Now i would like to order something online that no store for 500 mi from me carries ( i'm a touch and feel before i buy kind of guy).. low and behold "the unboxing" videos give me a sense of what to expect before i do or don't.. Not a huge fan of the blasting music for the first 5 mins but by the end i have learned something , either way i win. So thanks to all you guys/gals that make your vids, reviews, unboxing..whatever .. keep it up please

Kayak bowing from being on J-bars
Not sure , i just assumed the Cuda was too wide for that. I will bust out the measuring tape and do the maths. i'm kinda new at this and that is a solid idea thanks for the responses

Kayak bowing from being on J-bars
that's a good point about the inside foam blocks shifting , i have noticed this in the past. i bought my Cuda used and has 2 foam inner blocks that only seem to support top weight vertically. Am i missing a horizontal foam block for side support perhaps? .. can't find info on that from Jackson, and actually spoke to Jackson sales rep about it and they said "yea, when it's really hot out it happens in j cradles but will flatten when stored". Which it does, but it feels like i'm doing damage none the less. i'm probably just paranoid, but this boat needs to last me a while. I have an OK Tetra 10 that i car top as well , hence the bars. Guess i'll just start saving for a trailer , but then i'm going to want a JB or something with a deck.... it never ends does it ..lol

Kayak bowing from being on J-bars
I have a Jackson Cuda that i car top on a Buick Enclave using typical J-bars and straps. I usually put the kayak up on Friday nights to use during the weekend. By Sunday the boat is bowed to the point where my seat won't fit in the given slots. It eventually levels out when i leave it on garage floor for a week. Am i continually doing damage? or weakening the molded plastic? anyone else have this issue? .. although you all probably have trailers or sea wings by now...is this the only solution?.. trailer not really in the cards right now financially speaking. thanks for any replies

Who do you watch to learn?
i know your looking for locals but ... Mike Ioconelli's "City Limits Fishing" show has taught me much about presentation in different conditions on heavy pressured lakes and ponds. Which is what i have to contend with every weekend.

I wish...
i always have my phone on me while outdoors, but rarely do i scramble to find it to take pictures or video of anything while i'm fishing .. that's my time to commune with nature after being boxed up indoors most of the week. Not that i haven't tried to capture something unique on film, it's just that by the time i fumble for the phone iv'e missed the event myself and nobody wins!..

Line Size for Whopper Plopper?
i recently picked up a few 90 WP's after reading about all the success on the forums. i ran them on a 7ft med/heavy rod w/ Shimano FK 4000 (w/no reverse, love this feature!!) reel lined with 10lb Power Pro which is 2lb mono equivalent with no issues. Although i did not hook up that day, i felt that it would have been adequate, and casts a mile. good luck

Question about summertime bass.
super slow, using a 4in. power worm on a bent shank 4.0 hook weedless , 1/8oz. bullet weight./ heavier depending on the density of the hydrilla. jig, jig, pause........usually get them on the fall. you should not be mowing the lake bottom with this setup.

Favorite frog brand

Question about summertime bass.
I fish virtually same conditions , tons of hydrilla 6-10ft out with some lillies mixed in. i stake 20 yds. out and cast to the shadow of the treeline. Primarily using weedless Texas rig dropping in between the holes and sometimes a noisy topwater frog in the late evening. I feel like the hotter the weather the more you have to work for their attention.
