Can I fish here? I've seen some people fish over here before but I'm just curious. From older threads on another forum, they said not to fish on the pond but I could fish off the rocks. Any of you guys ever been here? Thanks!

Hi I'm Josh from Illinois. I'd like to start fishing but I have literally no clue where to start. I've been watching fishing vloggers on Youtube who fish for small mouth and large mouth such as Jon B, APBassing, LunkersTV, etc. I'm hooked and I really wanna start trying to catch some fish. Problem is, I have no fishing experience and I'd like some tips/pointers/advice. Also, how can I convince my dad to start fishing with me? I've always wanted to fish since I was maybe 12(I'm now 16). His excuse is that you're not going to catch anything. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks guys
