Yeah I've noticed sometimes when j don't see the follower I reel in super fast and the fish must comes out of no where and strikes

ive been fishing a lot of glide baits recently and ill fish them for a couple hours and almosdt every other cast id get a follower. most of the times if i see them before i take the bait out of the water i give the baita a few twitches and theyll bite but they usually bite in the middle of bait where the joint is or the head ive only landed a couple. has anyone else had this problem and is there a way to change that? im mostly throwing the river2sea 6" and 8" swaver matt
