The Next Step
Hello. I've been fishing for a few months now and usually do pretty good either from the kayak or from shore. I'm not claiming to be a good fisherman or to know what I'm doing I just love to fish and I'm lucky and work very hard for my fish. Anyways, I've read a lot of articles and seen a few youtube videos of people doing tourneys from shore -small tourneys that make it a little more interesting and fun to sharpen your skills. I live in Modesto, CA and was wondering if anyone here knows how the process works and how you become involved in small tourneys without actually becoming a permanent member of some club. Please advice and thanks for your time guys!!!!

Fishing Space Crowding and Decency.
Ok. New here at Bass Resource and brand new at kayak fishing. going to the delta this coming weekend and wanted to ask you more experienced anglers and kayakers; What is the golden rule as far as going to a crowded, popular place like the delta and keeping enough space between myself and other anglers? Some people don't even want you on the same general area for fear of you taking their fish, others don't mind sharing the water so much. So what's considered cool and what would be stepping over the line? Do you ask other kayakers if it's cool to fish right by them? Thanks!!!

Hello everyone. Brand new at fishing and brand new at kayaking. Just got a tarpon 100 and a cheap rod and reel from bass pro shops and went to a local reservoir and caught some largemouth and smallmouth. anyone know of any local ponds close to the modesto, CA area? we have large reservoirs here like Woodward, Modesto and Turlock but they're all hard to navigate on a kayak. I don't come from a fishing family my folks never fished I'm learning as I go. by the way, very thankfull for the articles I have read here all very informative and extremely helpful. thanks.
