Bass Addict from Memphis
Hey, everybody! I've been creeping the Memphis pond thread for a couple of years and finally decided to join the fray. I exclusively chase bass (and with a fly rod, and I love helping other fly fishers understand how to chase bass year round. As a group, the fly crew totally misunderstands bass and I point guys to this forum for conventional gear knowledge all the time. You guys are awesome! I've learned loads about chasing bass (and what public spots to haunt) on this site. Hope I can help contribute now, too! I work for a fly shop in Memphis and I try to stress local fishing to customers all the time, so I'm also constantly hitting up local water instead of driving to Arkansas for trout. Luckily, Shelby Co. is loaded with killer public water. If you see me out fishing feel free to say hi. Thanks. Dylan

- To All My Memphis Pond Hoppers!
Didn't see the thing about not promoting my shop! Edited first post to take the name and phone number out of it. Sorry, guys. Won't happen again.- To All My Memphis Pond Hoppers!
Thanks for the welcome, Vic! I know what you mean about dragging fish out of the junk. Sometimes I have to use a 10wt and 50lb leader to get them out of the grass mats..conventional totally has the advantage over fly rods when geared reels come into play. I have a blast doing it, but half of it is just trying to prove that not all fly fishermen wear tweed, drink single malt scotch, and fish dry flies from a drift boat while quoting Walton. Some of us like cowboy cold beer, chasing some stud bass, and listening to Jerry Jeff Walker or Robert Earl Keen instead. Days off are sporadic. In the near future, I'm off Friday, Monday, and Tuesday. Let's do it! Dylan- To All My Memphis Pond Hoppers!
Hey Guys! Been lurking like a champ for a couple of years. I'm super addicted to chasing bass locally (with a fly rod) and this forum is gold for some good hotspots. Most of what I do is public access, but this year has brought access to a couple of insane private spots (and my first fly rod bass over 10lbs!) Hopefully, I can contribute instead of just lurk now! Feel free to drop by the shop and talk bass (fly or not) Dylan Embree Fishing Manager for a local fly shop - To All My Memphis Pond Hoppers!
