  1. for a rod that big, you're really only looking at flipping heavy cover and big swimbaits for applications
  2. That's sweet man, I live about 20 minutes from KCI. As far as the rods go, you cannot go wrong with St. Croix. I'd pull the trigger if you're getting a good price
  3. Where are you located in the KC area? I'm a local as well.
  4. I have the Custom Speed Stick in the mail along with a Mojo Bass. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the rod you listed. If you can, go into a store and hold them and use that to make your judgement. At almost 165 though you're close to looking at a G.Loomis e6x. Good luck with your shopping! Best, Tyler.
  5. Which would you choose if it was between those two? I understand this may be a coke vs pepsi argument but I'm curious to hear your guys opinions on the two. Thanks!
  6. If you're saying that it won't affect performance then I'll probably just deal with it becuase it was an online order. Will forever bug me though.
  7. On my 7'4 Heavy St Croix Bass X it seems as if from the 4th to last eye to the end of the rod is slightly bent downward? I can clearly see that the rod is not straight. Is this normal on longer rods? This rod is brand new
  8. Hey there, I'm in the market for a crankbait rod and I'm looking for advice on the Mojo bass series. I want a MH rod that can handle 1.5 square bills through 5xds. In the graphite series they have. 7' MH Mod-fast that says it's for spinnerbaits. How would this rod work for those applications or would i be better off getting the 6'10 Medium Mod fast glass rod? The 7'4 Medium crankster is an option as well
  9. Thanks a lot for your response, I'm one of those people that does way too much research and needs to be reassured before making a new purchase lol.
  10. I'm thinking of purchasing a 7ft Med Mod-Fast action crankbait rod rated at 1/4oz to 5/8oz. Will it be able to handle lures such as 1/2oz red eye shads, 3xd-5xds, and 1.5 squarebills? I want to only have one cranking rod that can do it all. 5xds weigh 5/8oz and that will be the biggest crank that I use.
  11. Hey guys, I just purchased a St.Croix Bass X rod in 7'4 heavy. I am trying to find the right reel to pair with it for a flipping/pitching application. my price range is $100-$130. Let me know your guys opinions! Thanks!
