People that leave trash
Sorry to hear about your loss. May she RIP. I have to respectfully disagree though when you say to make a stand when you see someone littering. MANY people around the foothills here carry guns, and many of them are not afraid to brandish it. Combine that with a hot head and you risk getting shot over telling someone not to litter. To me it's simply not worth the risk. Do they need to be educated on littering and why it's a *****y thing to do? Absolutely. But other avenues of how and when to educate them need to be considered. Case in point, a local farmers son was driving around their orchard checking irrigation lines and whatnot. He came upon a couple of guys dumping their trash on the side of the road in their orchard. He confronted them and asked them to pick it up and take it to the local dump. They got ticked, pulled a handgun and shot him. He died on the spot. Worth it?

fishing kayak decission
Thanks for the info. Yah I have serious concern being able to load a kayak on top of my 4Runner without scraping the hell out of the paint or falling off myself as I try to perch up on tires to hook the thing up. I've never tried to launch or get out on anything besides nearly flat beach. Trying to load something solid on a steep boat ramp would be ridiculous by myself. A true benny hill moment for sure.

Good to know as I've been considering a roof rack for the 4Runner. Which model are you talking about? https://www.realtruck.com/kayak-racks-canoe-carriers/

Have you ever caught a fish without hooking it in the mouth?
Foul hook bellies and sides sometimes. Small fish can feel like a big one when reeling it in sideways.

fishing kayak decission
This is so true. Every time we get out of the ocean, and I'm exhausted, it's even harder to lug the kayaks back to the truck, especially while trying to not to slip on the shore or carry up a few stairs barefoot. Good workout for the forearms but it's not exactly an ergonomic position carry a kayak. Remember to use your legs, not your back!

fishing kayak decission
Although I haven't used either of those, I've spent a good amount of time on Hobie Mirage 13 kayaks in the ocean and I can say they are a b*tch to move between the vehicle and water if you're by yourself. Very heavy, long, and cumbersome. They have a fitted hull weight of 70.5 lbs. I can't imagine going heavier than that without a trailer and I consider myself pretty in shape and fit. I'm not getting any younger though. For comparison, the Big Rig weights 99lbs and the Atak 120 weigh 86lbs, and Atak 140 weights 95lbs. Both those rigs look really nice for fishing though! I'm sure you can't wrong with either.

Lead Banned by 2022
So brass it will be then. Any maps of which lakes are federal vs. state?

Need help identifying a crank bait, any help on who makes it or anything similar would be great. TIA
Wouldn't it be funny if the guy tied on some junky lure he never uses, before he rolled into the dock for weigh-in?

Movin to S Korea
You could probably find some very lightly fished areas around the DMZ. Lake in S. Korea near the DMZ or Lake in N. Korea near the DMZ

Cheap Lures
For those prices, for sure they are overseas knockoffs with zero R&D. Only reason I see for those are maybe if you are taking some really young kids out fishing and they are dying to try all your expensive looking lures rather than cheaper plastics. Then maybe you tie on that cheaply made China crankbait so every time the kid gets hung up, you're out $1 and not $10.

Bass Angler Wikipedia Pages
I'm not disappointed. It's the job of the pro fishermen to market themselves and they (or their agents) should be posting up their profiles on wiki. It takes time to put together great information and skill to write a really good profile in a way that is straight marketing, but without sounding like straight marketing. And nobody else probably wants to take the time to do the research and content creation to help market them if they aren't getting paid to do so. I do wonder how much information on Wiki is wrong. I've seen many instances with people having fun with some info and putting in stuff that far fetched and obviously false, just for the fun of it. More amazed Wiki can be offered for free and fully supported by donations. Their monthly bill for web server usage must be in the 6 figures.

ESPN (parent company Disney) bought BASS, LLC. in 2001 and that purchase included three publications Bassmaster Bass Times Fishing Tackle and Retailer In 2010, ESPN sold BASS, LLC to private investors Don Logan, Jerry McKinnis and Jim Copeland. On the program, McKinnis introduced the Ranger boat, an innovative fishing rig at the time, to his viewers. Logan is former chairman and CEO of Time Inc., who later served as chairman of Time Warner's Media and Communication's Group where he oversaw America Online, Time Warner Cable and Time Warner Book Group before retiring in 2002. People that leave trash
I agree. Around here, it seems the trash is almost 100% caused by the people fishing for catfish. I disagree on why though. I believe it's deep rooted in culture and how they were raised. I say culture because having traveling to many other countries, I've seen it first hand how kids are not discouraged from trashing their own beaches, cities, and mountains. Example. Driving through Santiago, Chile, I pulled up at a red light next to a bus full of school kids. Three (!) kids at different windows just randomly threw away their soda cans and candy/food wrappers. I found out later, it's just not enforced in their family values, and it's not a priority to teach them not to do it. I saw quite a few adults doing the same thing, mostly in broad daylight, in front of everyone, and nobody but myself seemed to notice. Too bad there is no way to enforce littering laws. How about an 'adopt a lake' program similar to 'adopt a highway'?

I'm wondering the same thing. No idea what a paper club is. I do know what piper cub is though.

Why do dark colored plastics catch fish in clear water?
True, you didn't say 'all' but when you state 'fish and birds', it is implied because you did not specify which birds or fish you were referring too. Since we aren't concerned with birds or non-bass fish for this discussion, it seems it would be more pertinent to focus on facts about bass with some links preferably to back up your stated argument. Can you provide more information and a link on your third statement regarding a (bass) fish's ability to 'interpret underwater light waves' ? I'm a bit confused by that statement.

About public domain water rights
I find this to be a very interesting subject and have been thinking about posting something similar. In California, there are some applicable rules which can be read here: http://www.keepcalmandflyfish.com/2015/07/california-water-law-private-vs-public.html It could get very confusing, very quickly when you start considering things like high tide lines, water levels, the terms navigation, obstruction, land ownership, public easements, federal and individual state laws. Seems like you should really do your homework on this and talk some local knowledgeable experts on the matter. Also an interesting read http://scholarship.law.berkeley.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=3023&context=californialawreview 1. U.S. constitution grants "Freedom of navigation and the public’s right to use rivers are guaranteed by the Commerce Clause. The congressional Act admitting States to the Union requires that 'all the navigable waters within said State shall be common highways and forever free.'" 2. California State Constitution, Article 10, Section 4 - Forbids individual, joint and corporate landowners from obstructing free navigation...
