Probably my favorite bait to use is a Zoom smoking shad swimming fluke or a blue purple mix football jig. Let's see how long this thread lasts!!

Topwater winter
Thanks because a friend of mine caught a bunch of them one day out on my lake. I'll have to try a rattletrap for sure my Dad loves them.

Sittin there reelin em in replied to Sittin there reelin em in's topic in Fishing Rods, Reels, Line, and KnotsREALLY nice rods guys I agree on what S. Sass said. Thanks bro maybe this thread will last long. I don't really have very expensive rod and reel setups because I'm only 14 and don't have a paying job soooo.

Sweet gear, when was that fish caught and where? I wish I could catch one like that every time I go fishing. Great catch. She is a monster.

Sittin there reelin em in replied to Sittin there reelin em in's topic in Fishing Rods, Reels, Line, and KnotsHey guys really nice rods and reels, I noticed a lot of people are leaning over to a Shimano. I'm wondering if I need to try that out. Lets see how long this thread will last even though there's a "better one".

Southern chilly waters
Oh yeah i have had a lot of luck off of boat ramps. Where I live there is still a lot of lilies, my friend and I went back where they were and hooked into a double digit with a Fluke but it got away.

Sittin there reelin em in replied to Sittin there reelin em in's topic in Fishing Rods, Reels, Line, and KnotsSweet rods and reels man! I have a older Shimano reel, but never could use it. The ball bearings messed up on it. I'm curious, is that braid on them? Here is my second favorite setup!

I'm just really curious what different kinds of fishing rods and reels people use. In my in my opinion,i prefer a Abu Garcia Orra sx paired with a Duckett T-Rex So post what you like to fish with!!

Topwater winter
Is it possible to catch big fish in the winter time like this on a top water bait or is it to late? I'm wondering if I will have better luck on top or bottom.

Southern chilly waters
Well, it's not really clear but it's not stained real bad if you know what I mean. I heard it's best for finesse jigs. Is that true? I mostly use football or all terrain jig heads. Where I live they've been suspended and holding on deep cover. This year probably the most luck I've had was on a spinner bait or a rattletrap. I'll have to try out a jerk bait but I've never had any luck with one.

OK, so I need some help on cold water fishing, I've tried jigs and I haven't had much luck out of that. Are worms good right now in cold water or is it best to keep trying different methods in the water with a jig? I got a few hits on some deep diving crank baits but nothing great. I have never winter fished until this year and it has been a tough one. I need some word from the wise.

RattleTrap
I like to use rattle traps in the fall on really windy days. For some reason i get the most hits those days.
