  1. Someone is going to be giving me a 24v motorguide brute 67 lb thrust trolling motor. The 4'th and 5'th speeds dont work though. I think the first 3 speeds will do fine with moving my small aluminum boat though. But have any of you had this problem. If so, could you tell me how you fixed it? Thanks.
  2. Would both do good for flipping and pitching? What about casting light baits?
  3. Im looking at alot alot of different reels for an upcoming purchase and im just wondering, what would you guys use the shimano curado 70 hg for? And the shimano scorpion 70 hg for? Not sure what the difference in applications is between the two reels.
  4. Its hard because the boater that I will be fishing with different every tournament and my boater is chosen randomly at the start of each event.
  5. My first ever tournament as a Co-angler in a boat is this coming April. My current arsenal is: 7'2" medium heavy power fast action casting rod with 15 lbs copolymer/fluorocarbon. Im using this as a very versatile rod (spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, texas rigs, etc.) 7'1" medium heavy power fast action casting rod spooled with 30lbs braid for some topwaters and any situation where the copolymer wont do so well 7' medium power fast action casting rod spooled with 10-12lbs fluoro/copoly (jerkbaits, lipless cranks, squarebills, senkos etc.) 6'9" medium light fast action spinning rod spooled with 12lbs braid for finesse situations like dropshotting etc. Ill soon have a 7'4" heavy power fast action casting rod spooled with 65lbs maxcuatro braid (froggin, pitchin/flippin heavy cover etc.) i know all of these combos arent completely and totally totally made for what im going to use them for, but i need versatility. So my question is... What other combos would you reccomend I get? I want to be able to generally cover all spectrums as a co-angler. Thank you.
  6. Im looking into the Daiwa tatula rods. Ive seen great reviews but now im trying to decide... Should I get the 7'4" HF? (1/2-2oz) or the 7'6" HF? (3/8-1 1/2 oz)
  7. Im looking for a new rod to use for frogs. For a while I've been getting away with a 7 foot medium heavy with some braid for frog fishing. But now, im expanding my arsenal since ill be fishing tournaments this coming April through the summer. I've seen some heavy power rods rods for frogging that are rated for 1/2 oz up to 2 oz. But will those rods be able to throw a standard 3/8 oz hollow bodied frog? I know 3/8 weighs less than 1/2 so id like to make sure a rod with that rating will work. Please help!! Thanks alot!
