Labeling Your Fishing Rods/Reels With Line Size?
Remember when life was simple and all we had was a Zebco casting rod and a 404 with some 15 pound mono and used that for EVERYTHING? AND IT WORKED??!!!

Anyone use both L-R handed casting reels ?
I have reels that go both ways. I can use them without thinking about it. I have always been ambidextrous. Freaked my parents out when I would be doing something and switch hands and just keep going. Only thing I can't do well is write with my left hand. I do like spinning reels to be left hand crank because it feels better holding the rod in my right hand. Casting reels, no problem. Just turn my body to accommodate it.

Labeling Your Fishing Rods/Reels With Line Size?
OMG Guys! You guys are worse than the custom longbow guys! Piece of masking tape and a sharpie. DONE! Trust me, it won't damage your fish poles!

I give. They’ve beaten me.
Big 'ol fat nightcrawler on a #2 baitholder hook and a couple of big split shot 18" up. Put her out there in a good spot and let her soak. If anything is there, it's gonna get bit.

Probably asked 100 times...
But can't find much by searching. What is your favorite mono and why?

Your favorite old baitcaster?
A Shimano black Bantam Mag. I, bet I cast a million miles on that thing until it fell apart!

Your favorite old baitcaster?
If you could go back in time and buy a new copy of an old baitcaster, which one would it be?

How do you fish a Daredevil?
I was given a big box of lures and in it was a box full of Daredevil lures. From the size of my thumbnail to the size of my whole hand. Black and white, red and white, camouflage, orange, copper colored etc. I haven't a clue to the proper way to fish these and what species they are good for. Any help?

Hard bait colors and Natural Selection
While I appreciate the ability to paint lures in such a fine manor, I don't believe the fish give a darn. If it resembles forage and they can catch it, so be it. I really think the fancy paint jobs are to catch fisherman first.

Is leader length important?
Im going to try using braids on most of my reels (casting and spinning) and will tie either mono or flouro on for leaders. How do you decide how long to make your leader? 3ft? 6ft? 9? What do you do and why? Does it make a difference?

Use of snap swivels?
I appreciate all of your input!

Use of snap swivels?
I like to use a good snap swivel and tie it on with my best knot then connect every lure I fish with it. I hate tying knots on lures. I try to use the smallest snap I feel I can get away with and I use good quality ones too. Anything wrong with universal use of a snap swivel?

Change out mono?
How often is it really necessary to change out mono like Stren or XL? Do you ever use cheap mono to half-fill your reel and then top off with good stuff?

Before Electronics?
How did folk find fish, or good spots to try, before sonars and fish finders?

Bending down the barb on a hook
I fish with kids a lot. I have them all trained to check their hooks when they attach a lure or hook and make sure it's crimped down. Even got them all a set of pliers and taught them how to do it. Every hook or lure that is tied on is crimped. I've only broken 2 hooks by crimping too hard and we catch lots of fish.

Loop to loop connection
I appreciate the input guys!

Loop to loop connection
Is the loop to loop connection ok to use to connect a mono leader to braided line or will the braid cut the mono? Can you suggest an easy knot to do this?
