What are the best or most common lure mods that may not be known about by someone not really deep into the sport? Anything to spinnerbaits or buzz baits or especially Manns Baby Minus Ones?? i typically do the following: -upgrades trebles on most crankbaits, especially my Baby Minus 1s. - Upgrade my spinnerbaits that that have Colorado blades to Hildebrandt blades (heavier and more thump). - Buzzbaits I drive with them attached to something on the truck to wear on the blade and get that extra squeak. - any skirted bait I trim skirts depending on the situation.

Does anyone ever try a jig or the like as their dropshot weight instead of a sinker?

Hello All, Didn't think to do this off the bat....but wanted to to introduce. First want to say, thank you for such a well run forum! Reminds me a lot of my my favorite deer hunting forum in high everyone has class and dignity in heir posts and responses. Much appreciated! Am a lifelong fisherman from Charlestown, IN, just north of Louisville. Primarily fish the Ohio River. Have bass fished it for 20 years...also a fair amount of cat fishing. My brother and I have fished tourneys on the Ohio for many years and know it well. Also fish Patoka and other area lakes. Favorite fishing is pitching a jig and pork in November on Lake Monroe. Some big sacks to be had doing that. Also love Bowhunting for Whitetails. Finally....need to mention, am a 20 year member of AA. Wouldn't be anywhere without that! Thanks! Mike

Thanks and yes...fairly new. Just getting back into more serious bass fishing (and tournaments) after about a 20 year layoff. Still love my jigs and pork and my Dion's Classic spider grubs but curious about all the creature baits available now and how they are deployed differently than other flipping/pitching type baits that I have used.

Does anyone ever try to return for a refund, those new crankbaits that don't run right?

My main question is are they all pretty much the same or not. There are so many different but similar shapes it's hard to choose which one. Do you normally just use one type that you have confidence in for whatever reason?

With all these different creature baits being marketed just curious if one outperforms another or if they are pretty much all the same assuming size, color, etc not factored in s a difference. Not talking about the one she made specifically for punching through matted weeds, or other specialized techniques but just all around flipping and pitching. Also, are there scenarios where a creature bait would outperform a regular old Zoom craw worm or Power Craw? Thanks'

Hello all, new member from around Louisville, KY. Great forums! Was curious how much difference does a jig trailer make (other than matching your jig), especially in he early season. Plastic vs pork in cold water? It's been a while since I've been into bassing seriously and just curious about changes in trailers. any recommendations for lake patoka early season one early season in general appreciated!
