What lure? Trolling behind kayak/boat?
Second rod stamp here in CO allows you to have a second line in the water. For a few extra bucks ($5) its definitely worth it. On the tough days here ill often be freelining a bluegill with one rod and working artificials with the other

What to throw when sight fishing bass around bluegills?
This is clearly about artificial immitations, but the bluegill spawn is my favorite time to throw indigenous swimbaits. Those bluegill are easy pickings with a fly and bubble and a live gill freelined out in the danger zone makes for a fun day.

Getting strike mid-retrieve
Given your name im going to assume you fish the fort collins area, there's some hawgs in the ponds around here but they can be really fickle and spooky. Shoot me a pm if you are in the fort collins area and ill help you get things dialed in. All but a few of my 5+ pound fish have come on a jig. Plastics and jigs are almost exclusively a target based presentation for me around here. Trying to drag baits on the bottom is a crapshoot in most places, especially at Riverbend pond #5. The bass in my profile pic came from the pond I believe you're referring to.

Northern CO- Looking to add one more rod to my collection
I don't think I'd be able to stretch into the G Loomis rods just yet, but the dobyns sierra looks awfully nice. I'm a smaller guy so the 6'9" would be a really comfortable length too. I'll have to do some searching around here and get a feel for those rods in person. I appreciate the input!- Looking to add one more rod to my collection
I've built up my rod collection quite a bit for this season, and I'm looking for advice on one last upgrade from beginner gear. I currently am using an old Abu Cardinal sx combo ( 6'6" med ) as my sole spinning setup. While I love it dearly, it's seen better days. I have learned with my last upgrades that better equipment makes fishing a lot more enjoyable and productive. In particular I have taken a liking to the Dobyns Fury series, I have the FR703c and 704c and they are both awesome rods. Is there another brand/series of rods I should consider in that price range? In particular I'm looking at the 663, I'm worried the 662 would be a bit too light. I'm going to pair it with a new Kastking Mela 2000 I just got and probably some 6 or 8lb. sniper.- Sunline FX2
I use it on my flippin and pitching setups, fantastic line! It is loud running through the guides, but that's personally not an issue. - Looking to add one more rod to my collection
