Avid X 7’ MH Fast Spinning Rod for Stripers
Freshwater . Wading , bank and possibly a boat Also , will be fishing primarily 5/8 - 3/4 oz buck tail jigs . Will likely look at a Stradic Ci4 3000 and 4000 to pair with the Avid X MH . Talked to St Croix rep today . Said the rod should be fine as long as I stay in the lure rating for which the rod is recommended for .

Avid X 7’ MH Fast Spinning Rod for Stripers
Close to pulling the trigger on a striper rod . Seriously look at the Avid X 7’ MH Spinning Rod , paired with the Stradic 3000 Ci4+ or Stradic 3000 FL . I have a Avid 6’6 ML paired with a 2500 Ci4+ , and it is a absolute jewel to fish with ! Also have 2500 FL on a backup rod . Any opinions on the Avid X 7’ MH Spinning Rod for stripers ? Will be throwing 3/4 oz buck tails for the most part .

Opinions on the St Croix Legend Tournament Bass as Smallmouth/ Walleye Rod
I'm wanting opinions on the 7'1 MF St Croix Legend Tournament Bass spinning rod that will be used as smallmouth / walleye rod . I'm also looking at the Avid X , 7' MF . The particular store I'm dealing with doesn't have much to offer in the regular Avid series but they have the Avid X . I have gift certificate , so I'm going to purchase a rod there . Opinions ?

The Pros and Cons between the Avid and Avid X
It's ok to drink the kola-aid .... just don't get drunk ... right. ? I can relate to what your saying . I do like the fighting butt though , but that's not a game changer for me . 99.9 % sure that I'm going with the standard Avid . If it aint broke don't fix it ! Still good to listen to opinions. Thanks!

The Pros and Cons between the Avid and Avid X
I have been getting great feedback on a all purpose Great Lakes smallmouth spinning rod . The opions have been leaning towards a 7' MF St Croix Avid model . I was wondering what the difference between the Avid and Avid X is . I know the X has a fighting butt and small guides . What exactly do the smaller guides do ? Does anyone have a hands on comparison between these two rods ?

What's the difference between the Avid and the Avid X 7' M spinning rods . Is one better than the other . What's the difference between Avid and Avid X besides the eye size and fighting butt . Is one better than the other .

Best Rod For Great Lakes Smallmouth
Just think .... All this knowledge is free !!! i appreciate it so much guys ! Now l'll cypher whether to go with 1 or 2 piece Rod . Always favored a 1 piece , but never went longer than 6' , until a used a 10' Scott steelhead Rod . Never had issues . For want ever reason , I thought it might create a weak spot .....

Best Rod For Great Lakes Smallmouth
I appreciate the feedback. Longer Rod does make sense for large bodies of water and strong fish . I use a 10' fly rod for steelhead on the Erie tribs and it has the backbone plus the Shock absorption for those big fish . Just never used long rods in the creeks for smallmouth. Always felt I had more casting control with the shorter rods . Is there a big difference between a fast tip and moderate tip ? I want to process all possibilities .. Lol !

Best Rod For Great Lakes Smallmouth
I am looking to purchase a new Rod and reel combo for smallmouth on Lake St Clair and Lake Erie . In the past I always used a 5'6" medium action spinning Rod . I recently purchased a Bionic Blade 6'6" ML paired with a Stradic 1000FH, which I plan to use in my local creeks . I have 6' M Bionic Blade paired with a Stradic 1000FH that I use for crappie fishing and I like it 100% . I am leaning toward the St Croix rods . I'm interested in the Avid 6'6" M or the Eyecon 6'6" M spinning rods for large bodies of water . I would pair either Rod with a Stradic 2500FK . I'm looking for opinions on both these rods (or any other Rod ) in M or ML action that would be a all purpose go to Rod .
