  1. The rod and reel of a spinning combo work together. For me a lot of has to with casting accuracy. You can be more accurate with spinning than with a baitcaster. You have more control as to were the lure or weight will land. I do a lot of light line finesse fishing and for light line sensitivity you cannot go wrong with a spinning rod. If you watch the pros on TV, you will see more and more are using a spinning reel. Most use it for small lures or small plastic baits. Again you get better presence with the smaller baits using a spinning reel.
  2. Five Bass Limit - I just visited the website for G-Blanks. Awesome pricing for a sensitive rod. How have you liked yours? What Stradic do you have paired up with yours. 6 to 8lb test is what I fish most. Thanks for everyone's help. BGB

  4. I have been saving up and now I need some help on purchasing a top quality finesse spinning rod and reel. I have read a lot of the past forums and I see that the Shimano Stradic 2500FH is referred to a lot. Most of my finesse fishing is done with 6lb line. I do a lot of split shot and shaky head jig fishing. I live in Houston so I hear a lot about Kistler Helium rods since their factory is NW of Houston. Many people also mention St. Croix but if I'm going to put down some good money for a quality spinning rod and reel I need some recommendations from some fellow finesse fisherman. Only one day left till Christmas, I hope every gets the fishing gear they wished for. I appreciate everyone's help.
