  1. i just purchased a spoon online. hope to bring it next time out will try a shakey head tom!!! got my swing head in the TBox umm can i use a ultravibe worm on this? just a local reservoir, just will be with family on a boat of my own. 1) never ever tried a drop shot =( although i am looking to try it 2) got it packed and ready to rock tom.. never caught one on this tho 3) did this and this will be my last resort if the above 2 fails 4) the deepest CB i have just goes to 16 ft... will this be enough?
  2. what to rig for deep ledges if I have 2 rods on a boat? I intend to fish around 20 to 40 feet deep, I can bring 2 rods with me on the boat. My go to rig is a 1oz Carolina rig. I am need your opinions on what my 2nd rig should be. its usually ledges, rock piles and a few submerged houses weather looks to be rainy with some segments of sunlight -Is it sensible to set it up for suspended bass? -should i try a 1/10 oz weighted wacky on a 7" senko (is this even viable)? -should i set it up for a diff presentation (like what)? thanks for your inputs ?
  3. thanks for this info will do this next time out. i agree with this thats why i tried to match their cadence as well.. however i think the profile game them a better sink rate thanks for the inputs guys.. i was the one in front of the boat. accuracy of casting was also a factor... it was ledge fishing and i all of us searched for rocks n gravel. i guess they were able to hit it more. one clue i have is the biggest ones of the day looked normal when they were pulled out but after a while they died and had the eyes popping out literally, they were also puffed and guts in their throats. any ideas on why this happened?
  4. we (my brother and i) went fishing with a buddy yesterday and i noticed a pattern (both of us used a 10lb. braid with 4 ft 15lb floro leader) All of us were texas rigged and we fished from the same boat. soft plastics I went with a zoom trick worm (motor oil) he used a zoom speed worm (june bug red with red flakes) my bro used a yamamoto senko (june bug) I tried to play the numbers game and thought by the end of the day i would eventually get a big one and lost pattern that emerged I caught 4 fish for every 1 they caught BUT they got the quality sized fish. my fish averaged at 1.5 pounds they averaged 3 pounds each. the trick worm is a skinny worm compared to GM and the speed worm is the diff in profile a determining factor? the diff in profile is not much... so is it a color factor? or is it just the casting spots we chose? i even matched their retrieve speed, kept my worm hopping and dragging the bottom. what should i try next time out? ONE IMPORTANT observation after... most of the fish they had on the stringer had its eyes literally popping out and looked bloated.
  5. Thanks so much for the replies guys.. now i have a good idea on the rod profile i would need. tight lines and happy fishin
  6. thanks for that point on loading up the rod.
  7. I have been fishing exclusively using soft plastics for past 3 years now, and I feel I have inadequate knowledge when it comes to crankbaits (in terms of rod characteristics, BC vs. spinning). - most of my rods are MH to Heavy with fast tips (7ft spinning and BC) - I have a UL and a ML rod (6'6" spinning rods) for ned rigs -thinking of using lures like rapala, yuzuri duel and jerk baits should I use spinning or BC? what rod action and length should i be looking into?
  8. yes that used to be right. sadly i have seen the climate change due to global warming and the months that used to signify the start of rainy season have been moved by 2 months (from june to august). it was a cluster of eggs about 1.5 inches.
  9. oh sorry guys.... im new here.... im from the Philippines.
  10. i caught a LMB in my local lake and when i got home i cleaned the fish and she had a cluster of eggs. any idea how far spawning season is? thanks in advance
  11. something that i have no use of anymore... a 20 lb kettlebell
  12. when I was fishing on the bank I could see a grp of suspended bass near some cover, I casted past them so I would not spook them when my t rig landed. on the retrieve of my rig, my braided main line passed between the fishes and they bolted away as soon as it crossed them. the next week, on the same spot with the same lure... I used a fluorocarbon line. and the results were better... I was able to get the lure between them. as they did not seem to react to my main line... however they did not strike my lure. but that's a different story.
  13. sir Im not saying you are wrong on this, maybe you have an idea why my white braid lines end up with the same color as the waters i fish in.
  14. im new to braids but from what i see n hear.. braids absorb water. after a while wouldnt the absorbed water affect the knot strength?
  15. wow..... april fools was a few weeks ago (just kidding). umm your statement made me think what kind of rod action should i look for to use on this rig.
  16. so... has anyone actually tried it? how well did you do?
  17. sorry for the incomplete info guys, i live in the Philippines and usual fish are tilapia and snakehead which are have different markings.
  18. May I ask what are the limitations of the ned rig in terms of location? What type of composition would it excel in and what areas should i avoid using this rig? thanks in advance
  19. 1) Yesterday I went Bass fishing and I noticed there there were small bass on the water edge. They were about 3" long. If Im trying to figure out the spawn cycle, How long ago did bedding, spawning happen? Thanks in advnce
  20. im new to ned rigging.. mind if i asked "where should i avoid using ned rigs?" thanks guys
  21. i had a similar problem with my quantum a while back and it seems like there are times when the guide does not move to spread the line as you load the spool.
  22. Thanks for the insight on this. will go again to lumot this week. most probably panta by may. fishing tackle are hard to come by here coz people mainly fish salt water thats why the shops usually carry salt water gear. i try to order online but it takes weeks or months to arrive. all the guys who responded here also gave good insights.. i realized that they do have patterns.. it may not be like yours over in the stats but they wouldnt be propagating if they didnt. Thanks so much
  23. sorry i was at busy and wasnt able to reply sooner. im from the philippines.
  24. I see in YouTube guys who would always say during spring the bass like to do so and so... in the winter they will be around this area. I live in a place where there is no spring and winter. All he have is hot summer, rains and a cool climate on the last quarter of the year. I'd like to understand the behavior of Bass but I cannot apply what you guys know to my local area. Any ideas on where I could start so i may understand how the seasons locally wouyld relate to the behavior of Bass. thanks guys
