  1. Really weird, my friend came to my house with his 4 tatulas and three of them had broken pins...
  2. That’s exactly what it is, but what if the gold piece does not spin? Should I just not worry about it?
  3. Took it to Thorne Bros. Hoping they don’t charge me for a full new spool...
  4. Figured out what happened. Plastic piece inside with two prongs on the end that broke. Taking it to get repaired tommorow
  5. What exactly is the worm gear? Lol The pieces are very small and look as if they were together at one point. Just plastic cylinder shaped pieces
  6. While holding my tatula sv I noticed a sound inside of it when I shook it and sounded like something loose. Took the side plate off and still made the sound, removed the spool and this little black piece broke in two pops out. What piece is this? Is it important?
  7. Washed hands and brush and lightly sanded and still won’t stick. The sandpaper is 320 so I’m curious if the surface is just too smooth? The pores in the cork are clogged? I don’t know. Really weird
  8. Looks amazing! Turned out better than mine!
  9. That’s what I thought but it’s very smooth lighter colored and does not have the shine the rest of the rod does. I sanded this area before the seal and I’m sure it has something to do with it. The seal just seems to wipe right off after application
  10. After I applied cork seal to my rod I noticed a light spot in the cork and noticed the seal didn’t bond to it. This was an area I sanded before I applied it and I have tried putting more in the area but it just won’t stick. Any ideas why this might be?
  11. Was about to head out fishing when I noticed my guide was bent upwards a good bit. Bunch of little kids running around the house and I guess it was bound to happen. I bent it back but now I must deal with the cracked epoxy. Will clear nail polish do? I don’t really want to spend 15$ on some epoxy to fix it.
  12. Yea I pull on the loops almost every time I backlash, will start using you’re method. Thanks
  13. Just checked guides and no cotton sticking, I’m starting to think it was from a backlash because I did lose a good 40ft of line or so, must have broke in the spool
  14. Correct 832 and 40lb, tatula sv I have Fuji Alconite guides on my rod and on the tip the black paint seems to have wore off but is not abrasive at all. Was using a frog and did backlash before but I figured 40lb wouldn’t break like that, and the rest of the line doesn’t seem to be frayed so I’m kinda lost
  15. How so? My thumb? Lol
  16. As I was casting my line just snapped, I was able to hook the line in the water and get my bait back but am curious as to how the line broke. Has anybody had there line break like this? My guides seem to be fine and I might have had a slight backlash but do not remember. The line seemed to coil up on each side
  17. Ok thanks guys think I’m going to go with a JWR 852S
  18. No preference really, I’m not sure if they are being discontinued or not.
  19. I have an Aetos and I like it but want to try other brands. I don’t like how short the handles are on the st croixs either.
  20. Want to get my first Gloomis rod to pair with my ultegra 3000, im only in the budget for a e6x spinning rod but am kind of overwhelmed by all of the options they have like spin jig, jig and worm, dropshot, shakeyhead. Im mainly going to be using it for smallmouth and walleye and will be using 1/4oz jig heads with plastics, ned rigs, occasionally a dropshot and sometimes a wacky rig. Just curious which e6x I should get and will pair nicley with the reel.
  21. Was looking through my guides after my rod tip had scraped on the cement sidewalk and noticed a small little chip out of my tip guide. Will this be an issue? Should I replace it? I’m kind of OCD about this stuff and having to get a new guide that does not match the others would trigger some of this OCD... The rod is a Fenwick Aetos
  22. Last year my family bought a place on Big Sandy Lake in northern Minnesota. The lake is primarily fished for walleye and crappie and there is a large population of small pike. I know there are smallmouth in there but there are not many of them as I can tell from surveys (Bottom Link). But after catching a couple and one even up to 4.8lbs this weekend while crappie fishing I really want to try and target them this year. The one I caught this weekend was on a bobber with a tiny crappie minnow off of a island in 6ft of water with a sandy with some rock bottom. When the fish got to the boat either 2 or 1 others in the same weight class also came to the surface with her. Another 4lber I caught last year was in about 7-10ft of water off of a rocky bottom point with a square bill in mid to late fall. And the last fish i caught was 3.5lbs and was off a point with hard bottom in 10ft in the summer on a jighead and swimbait. Problem is the lake is very different from what I think to be traditional smallmouth waters. Most offshore structure tops off at 10ft and the lake has bad water clarity. Where should I start? What should I throw? The the top link is a map of the lake if that helps. 23. It’s honestly ridiculous. I was out last summer on a 6000acre lake at 7pm. I was fishing a spot all by myself and this boy pulls up about 20ft away from me. Like are you serious? Me and you are practically the only ones on the entire lake right now and you have to pull up 20ft away from me? I was fishing the lake the entire day and not once did I see them fishing where I was that night.
