Thanks for the input. Doesn't look like I will be shooting it thru the hull. Son is having a pontoon boat given to him so I will most likely have to rig something to work on that also. THinking about making some sort of rig with pvc pipe or something. Have it coming out of one of the rear rod holders or off the front cargo area of the yak, then see what i will have to do off the front of the pontoon.

Thoughts on a Anderson Arms .223 AR-15

I am new to kayak fishing and using fishfinders, with that said I received a Sun Dolphin Journey ss 10 ft. Sit on fishing kayak. I went out and purchased a Lowrance Mark 4 with Chirp sonar and downscan imaging. What are the pros and cons of mounting the transducer in the hull, to mounting it outside of the hull. The main bodies of water I will be in would maybe be 40 feet at its deepest. Thanks for the input. Just want to get it right from the start. If I do mount in the hull, is the sanding of the hull and transducer for the marine goop to stick to both?
