Shimano Curado vs Lews Tournament MB
I'm in the market for a new reel and have only used Lews before but I have heard so many things about the curado. Honestly, both have me hard to beat. Does anyone have experience with both? Any noticeable pros or cons of either of them? Also, I hear the older curados are better than the new ones? (excuse my lack of knowledge with shimano reels) Any help would be greatly appreciated!

When to Set the Hook?
I'm using a field and stream rod 6'6 medium fast with a lews Carbon fire 7:1 ration with #30 pound braid. Last summer, I was using mostly soft plastics such as senkos, dingers etc.

When to Set the Hook?
I'm fairly new, I began fishing last year and have only went out probably a total of 6 or 7 times. My biggest problem is knowing when to set the hook, I don't think I know when the fish is eating the bait because every fish I've caught I've just began reeling in and the fish is hooked. I don't understamd the whole setting the hook and how to do it or when to do it.

Oiling/Lubing A New Reel?
Hello, I'm fairly inexperienced but I have a question. I'm getting a new baitcaster reel in a few weeks, should I oil/lube up my reel as soon as I get it as its not already some from factory? Also, why should I or when should I be oiling/lubing or cleaning my reel?

New Rod Setup
Hello, I currently only have one rod setup which is a field and stream rod (forgot the version) and paired with a lews baitcasting red reel with #30 pound braid. This has been my work machine, im looking to get a new rod to be able to fish more with less re-tying and more fishing. I believe my current rod is a 6'6 medium heavy. What fishing style or technique should I look to be my next setup?

Favorite Rods
Has anyone had any experience with "Favorite Rods"? I've seen a lot of fishing guy on YouTube and I'm wondering if they are worth all the hype around them. I'm currently looking to get a second rod and have been curious abut purchasing their defender edition medium heavy 6'6 or 7' rod to pair with my next purchase of a lews speed spool lfs reel.

Hello from Pennsylvania
Hello, my name is Connor. I'm 17 years old and just really got into bass fishing last year. I was very inexperienced going into it from getting my first bait caster and buying baits and lures. I really only fished plastic as I did not know how to fish the other type of lures. This year I'm looking to fish and try more techniques more than last year. PA has some small local areas which is tough to find areas to fish but I fish local ponds and go up to Lake Wallenpaupack at least once during the summer. I'm happy to be here and learn more things!
