Fishing Challenges
I think the first may risk public lewdness charges, but an epic story nonetheless. The last, however, is probably a guaranteed viral video on YouTube. Sorry to hear that one. Catch 5 bass with the same senko rigged 5 different ways. Catch 5 species in one day Catch fish using only rod, reel, terminal tackle, and garbage found around the pond. (this one helps if you've got a bunch of people with garbage bags on a clean up day).

Line irritation?
try getting her a spincast or an underspin reel and tie her knots for a couple trips to see if they go away.

First Fishing Kayak
I have a cheapo Intex inflatable that I'd recommend to anyone under 6'0 unless you're an XXL + (although they do have a 2 man model) It's under $100 shipped with a paddle, and it's especially nice for smaller water that you have to walk to or putting in the trunk of the car. You get pretty much exactly what you expect for the price, you'll upgrade before too long, and you'll probably still use it once in a while after you do. Biggest tip, though, make sure you get a life jacket.

Old School Reel Question
I found the thread myself, digging through. Wanted to set up a couple of indestructible backup duty reels out of a box in the basement. Call me crazy but I believe I'm about to order ceramic bearings and carbon fiber drag washers for a 300 C and a 410, the 300 will most definitely have a better handle. Do any of you, by chance, have any other tips or upgrades?

Vintage Mitchell reels
Mitchell Reel Museum. It's an awesome site but for some reason the one piece that I'm looking for is a big fat error code.

Vintage Mitchell reels
Does anyone have a list of them all and what exactly they were? Google has helped but the one place that had them all listed comes up with an error. Trying to look up the difference between a few.

Old School Reel Question
Looks like I'm late but Check out a Mitchell 400 handle and knob. They're a lot bigger.

Lake bardwell record bass caught on McD's nugget
Here I thought catching my PB largemouth on a bluegill while chasing catfish was bad.

Chicken wings
Yes I have, but I think it's more of a marketing thing, especially since you don't need to sign one to buy the sauce.

Chicken wings
I have and they're also quite hot. They have little flavor, but they will light your day up and make your a$$ shoot fireballs for approximately 24 hours.

Chicken wings
It's 5 minutes from Cross Creek lake...

Chicken wings
Another Pittsburgh guy, eh? Take 844 (Jefferson Ave) out of Washington to Wellsburg, WV and hit up Drover's Inn. You won't be sorry.

YouTube Demonetization
Agreed, it takes a lot of work to build a channel. My friend devotes quite a bit of time to his channel and hes got his cameras on the water no less than 3 days a week, followed by hours of editing at home. If someone appreciates what he's doing and wants to give him stuff to help him do more and benefit from it, so be it.

Chicken wings
Yes I have, and I'm not sure what part of OH you're in, but if you like wings and find yourself in the southeast corner of the state (I'm assuming you're not far from the Original Quaker Steak & Lube in Mercer, PA), head on across the river to Wellsburg, WV and try Drover's Inn. Best wings ever, IMO.

Chicken wings
I see your chain wings and raise you wing night at B.P.O. Elks Lodge #455, Monongahela, PA. I'm the cook and just received an award for my wings. The secret blend of spices in the flavor I call 455 Rocket, in honor of one bad ass Oldsmobile, come from my garden and they will absolutely rock your world. Licking a hot iron may be the thing to do, but south of Pittsburgh, you can come try to lick the blast furnace.

Tackle vs. Knowledge
Amen to that, my friend. I'm a political activist who likes to fish, so debating rules and laws is also my thing, but really, I mean I fish to get away from that sort of thing. If bending the spirit of the rules is what tournament fishing is really all about, I'll keep my entry fee and fish elsewhere.
-
Tackle vs. Knowledge
This seems to be a good time to speak on the spirit of the law and the letter of the law. According to the letter of the law, WRB is absolutely correct and if he won it, was DQ'd, and wished to challenge the tournament loss in court, he would probably win and the tournament host could go bankrupt. His interpretation, however, goes against the spirit of the law, or violates it's intention. This is the sort of thing that makes it a good idea to have a lawyer look over the tournament rules, and in turn drive up the cost of the tournament by making the organizers have to pay a solicitor's fee to have a good time.

Dough ball
I watched a few boilie vids and I may try some. Especially love that you can use a microwave to make them float. Did not, however, see many doughball recipes that contain the meat or meat byproducts that claim to attract both cats and carp, nor did I notice a single meat boilie.

YouTube Demonetization
It was an invitation to fish on a buddy's YT channel that got me interested in bass fishing again. My first appearance on there was a little over a year ago and I've since been in a few other episodes (or at least skunked during the filming) as well as given a hand in the production. As far as monetization goes, he didn't exactly set the world on fire from the get go, but he did land a couple sponsorships. One sponsor sets him up with a smokin discount, another sends him a lot of high end baits, and a third, the local bait shop, had him produce several promotional videos for them before eventually hiring him on 4 days a week, where, with the help of his channel, he has done really well. Long story short, think outside the box and there's more money to be made.

Cutting the cord/MLF To Go
**** cable. Don't be a slave to the networks. Politically, I'm a staunch Libertarian and can't stand mainstream media or their lack of third party coverage, so there's 40 channels of BS gone (and Glenn, no more political comments, I promise). Everything else I want to watch is on Netflix or broadcast on an antenna, just like the old days. I also subscribe to Motor Trend On Demand, as I'm a huge fan of Roadkill. I cut the cord 8 years ago, got in a relationship and got it back for 1 or 2, and I dumped her and cable on the same day (I caught the fish in my profile pic the following day). I miss neither the girl or the cable.

LOST my Leatherman
Manicievitz (sp?) is made with concord grapes, it's special and sweet. I have loved every gerber that I've owned before losing them, although I carry Piscifun pliers, which are about as comparable to the high end ones pictured previously in the thread as one can get for $20. I do believe KastKing and a few other MFG's stamp their name on the same pliers. While I agree, buy quality and it lasts a lifetime, there's no way in hell I could begin to justify spending more on pliers than I take home in a full day's wages just so I can cry when I eventually send 'em to Davy Jones' locker. I will say that the piscifun is much nicer than the hemostats or flea market needle nose I've carried in the past, and absolutely give props to the guy who managed to keep the same pliers for 20 years. I will, however, note that my girlfriend and I went car shopping this weekend. Those pliers are officially worth more than the dealer offered on trade for her '00 Chevy Impala, and about the same as the monthly payment would be on a new Malibu.

Zebco Bullet/ rod combo for wife
There's a guy on ebay that has the casting model at 2 for under $50, everyone else has the series at $50 each

Zebco Bullet/ rod combo for wife
The paint style is the model name, and the shiny red rod with chrome plated eyes and aluminum accents on the cork handle looks awesome when paired with a shiny chrome Daiwa SC80.

Tackle vs. Knowledge
I can still bring a cooler, right? As far as bass knowledge goes, I've got a lot to learn. While I'm confident that I would catch fish, I question the relevance of money, as memories and time spent with your fishin' buddy/partner are far more valuable than cash. When fishing, whether I get skunked or catch 100 lunkers, I always know that a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work, so I call it a win every time I wet a line.
