Swimbait Reels?
I’m somewhat new to the bigger swimbait industry. I ordered a dobyns 806 and looking to match it up with a reel. I plan on mainly throwing 5-6” bull shads. I have many curado k’s and metanium mgls, I’m assuming they can’t withstand 2+ oz. I’ve tried to see what the recommended weight for the Tranx 200 but haven’t found anything. Thoughts?

Does the G. Loomis GLX ever outshine the NRX?
I have an 852c, 893c, 894c and a 916 UBR. They’re so incredibly light they are hard to put down

Does the G. Loomis GLX ever outshine the NRX?
I own 4 G Loomis NRX’s and I love them all. I’ve never used a GLX. Does anyone have both? Does the GLX ever top the NRX for any presentation? I thought about picking up a MBR 844c for general Texas rigs and jigs

Leader knot question
I appreciate the replies. My main setups are 40lbs sufix 832 braid to 15lbs seaguar red label fluro. I’ll checkout the FG knot. I’ve been trying to learn the blood knot and for some reason it fails when I pull it tight.

Leader knot question
I’m becoming a braid type of guy but I’m still a rookie when tying leader knots. My rod arsenal is mainly consists of the NRX and I noticed the eyelets are tiny. I use the Alberto knot and every time I cast I’m hearing the knot kind of make a ticking noise as it goes through the eyelets and I can feel it in the rod. It’s not getting caught but I’m worried that I’m hurting the rod. Is it normal to hear the knot go through the eyelets? I can tell that it’s kind of effecting my casting distance. Any advice would be appreciated! I’m sure the more I tie knots the more efficient it will eventually get

Learning to flip/punch
I appreciate the replies! I’m stuck between dirty jigs punching jig or sieberts tungsten punch rig. Also I’m questioning my rod selection. Which rod would be a good all around flip/pitch/punch rod... G. Loomis GLX 895 FPR or the 954 FPR? If you don’t know the specs the 895 FPR is 7’5 XH (3/8-1 1/4oz) the 954 is 7’11 Heavy (1/4-1oz)

Learning to flip/punch
In need of some advice! Ive been fishing at a pond that has heavy moss just about everywhere I look. Instead of fishing around it, I thought I’d try to fish in it! Overall the pond is pretty shallow. Where I’m noticing the most cover, the water depth range is 3ft to 10ft. I picked out a rod (G Loomis GLX 954c FPR). The only jigs in my aresanal are siebert jigs but own no flipping jigs. I know I need something heavy enough to get through the thick mats of moss but considering how shallow the water is, I don’t want to go too heavy so I maximize the presentation on the fall. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

G. Loomis GLX 954c FPR rod
I’m looking to buy a Glx 954c for flipping and pitching. I was curious if this could be used as a swim bait rod as well?

Braid to leader issue
I just attempted to tie on my first fluro leader to braid, however when I cast or reel in, the knot is getting caught in the guides. I felt like I sinched the knot pretty good but I noticed on the NRX it has more of the smaller guides at the end of the rod. Some of the specs of the equipment I used: - Shimano Metanium MGL - G. Loomis NRX 894 - 50 lbs power pro braid - 20 lbs seagaur red label fluro the knot I used for the leader was a uni-to-uni knot thanks!

Megabass Orochi XX
I’ve been in the market for a jerkbait rod and I’m wanting either the Orochi xx jerkbait special or flat side special and it seems every place has sold out. Anybody know where I can pick one up?

NRX 852c for senkos/weightless plastics
I’m looking to get a rod for finesse applications. Weightless senkos/soft plastics, wacky rigs, shakeyheads, drop shots, etc. Would the NRX 852c be a good option? I know Matt Allen uses an 852c with an aldebaran for shakeyheads

Must have G Loomis Rods?
I'm looking to upgrade all of my gear. Went to the local pro shop and held an NRX and pretty much fell in love. I also like the look of the glx series. I throw a lot of plastics, in cover, around cover and open water. I throw jigs anywhere from 1/4 to 3/4 (currently have a megabass emtf on order for the lighter jigs). Weightless jerkbaits, the list goes on. I'm looking for casting gear. So what are the must have casting rods from gloomis in the NRX and/or GLX line and what do you use them for?
