I appreciate all the responses. They give me a good place to start.

My wife has caught the bass fishing bug from her kayak. I have already given her a 6'6 M Spinning Rod but would also like to get her 6'6" MH Fast Action Spinning Rod for throwing some spinnerbaits, jigs, and larger crankbaits She has no interest in a baitcaster. Do you have some suggestions on bost a rod and reel. I would like to keep in under 200.00 if possible.

Does anyone have any experience with or know anything about a 7' XH Fenwick Legacy Bait Casting Rod 1-4 oz? I pick one up in a garage sale for $10.00. It is like new and I couldn't pass it up. Thanks

Good morning, I am looking for a tough decent spinning rod (2 piece) to keep in my pick-up. I fish for trout, small mouth, large mouth, and small cats. Just want something to have if I come across an opportunity to fish and not have the time to run home and get all my gear. I am looking at Ugly Stix GTX. My only question is what do you think is the best length and action. Thanks

Good evening, I picked up a Bass Pro Extreme 60 Million spinning rod in excellent shape for $10.00 at a yard sell. It is 6'6" medium action, 4-12lb test, 1/8-1/2 oz. I will be using this in my kayak for multi-specie fishing along with my MH bait casting combo which I have 14lb test on. I want to put Pflueger President XT Spinning Reel on it. Not able to get to a tackle shop to look at them in person I am going to have to purchase online. Would you suggest the Presxts P30. P35 or p40? Thanks
