Went to Jacomo this morning with my dad. Caught 5 fish total, all on a 10” worm. The biggest was around 4 lbs or so, with the others in the 1-2 lb range. I caught 4 at the northern end of the lake with lots of bites from smaller fish that I couldn’t quite set into with the big worm, but I first started by the sailboat cove and caught one small guy. What I figured out from my day out there is that all 4 fish from the northern end (and most of my bites) were in grass in probably 6-10 ft of water. Wind and shaded areas also played a big factor cause today was a hot one.

Anyone know how La Cygne is fishing? Thinking about heading there tomorrow with my kayak.

Anyone ever fish Beaver Lake? Going there in July and was wondering about both the smallies and largies as well as if I could get on stripers on my own?

Okay thanks! I’ve never done too well at SMP and always wanted to go out to Wyandotte so maybe I’ll have to try it. Also really like Olathe and Cedar.

Hell, then it was probably around 22. It was super chunky and had the mouth of a dd and I still regret not bringing a scale. Last good fish I caught out there was pushing 5 and was a post spawner in early summer. Based on that, I’m assuming that fish in those pictures had to have weighed at least more than 5. And also, got any info on Wyandotte lately? Thinking about heading out there with some buddies soon.

It was roughly 24-25” long. Didn’t get the gerth but I could barely fit my hands around her if that helps.

Caught this about two years ago in the fall. Any weight estimates on her? I did not have a scale. Another picture that shows the shoulders a bit better:

Just went to some local ponds yesterday. The males were cruising around bluegill beds and were inches to the bank. I caught several on a creature bait. Looking like they should start bedding fairly soon if the weather holds.

Okay that’s what I thought. A buddy of mine told me he thought they already had spawned and I didn’t buy it. I remember last year they had spawned by the time the schools were out for summer. But thanks for the info. Looking forward to finding girls on some beds in a couple weeks.

Anyone know if they’ve spawned yet during this period of weird weather? Or if they are still waiting to move up?

This could be a stupid question...but is Lake Shawnee the same as Shawnee Mission Park Lake?...because my experience at SMP has not been great.
