  1. I have to say, I have two confidence baits. I did not start fishing for bass and small mouth until 11 years ago when my wife and I moved to Virginia. Up until then I fished for trout and that was about it. I started using inline spinners in various colors. This seemed to work for the most part. I had a guy on a boat one night yank out a 3lb fish out of where I just fished. He told me to try grubs. I bought a huge selection and for a long time that is all I used unless the river got high. Now for the last few years I would have to say it is a 3" or 4" gulp minnow texas rigged. This seems to be a killer. I feel I got to reliant on these staples so I ordered the mystery tackle boxes and I have been trying new baits. I have had pretty decent success with the new stuff. I just need to get the wife to start catching and just not using different baits.
  2. So, I managed to catch a large blue crab on a rattle trap while fishing the Rehobeth Bay in Delaware. My wife has caught a piece of plywood with metal roofing on it, a pair of pants, a clam shell, and multiple lures. Including an ultra light combo all set up on the Potomac. I caught a large surf fishing set up on the Shenandoah one day. We have found a whole host of stuff. We clean up on bobbers. If anyone wants some let me know. We usually recover 20 throughout the year.
  3. Thank you everyone for the kind welcome. I need to start posting pictures of our trips with the kayaks. If anyone gets in the area hit me up. We would be glad to go out.
  4. Thanks everyone for the kind welcome. This website is fantastic. Steveo 1969, let me know when you get up this way. I get days off during the week and some weekends. We just were out above the dam. It was fantastic fishing.
  5. Hello Everyone, I am Charlie and I live in Harpers Ferry, WV. My wife and I own two Jackson Coosa HD's. We go out for small mouth bass and catfish at least one to two times a week in the area. We have access to 4 spots on the Shenandoah within five minutes of our house. If anyone is in the area and wants to go out, just hit me up. We tend to go out during the week though because the river gets ridiculous here in the summer on the weekends. I am a long time lurker for advice from this forum and thought it is time to join up and try to contribute back a little. If anyone has any questions hit me up.
  6. Hello Everyone, I have a Bernies River Stick. It works like the mini power pole but instead of power, you raise it with a rope manually. It works very well. It is made in York County, PA and they pretty much mount to every kayak out there. Let me know if you have any questions about it let me know. I have mine on a Coosa HD. https://www.berniesriverstick.com/about
