Tatula SV
I jusy bought a Tatula SV 7.3:1 LH while Seth Fieder was at a local tackle shop. I have looked through the forum but am wondering is there any difference in setting up the brakes from the CT. If i woyld have been smart i would have picked up the Zillion instead since reels werr 20% off.

Arsenal for co angler
I agree that as a co angler i can not bring a lot of tackle with me and i dont ever want to be that guy. Do i know that in the club i am in that if their boat is big enough that they dont have a problem with you bringing 7 rods with you yes i know that. But am trying to get everything covered in 5-6 set ups. So i appreciate all the responses

Arsenal for co angler
I know that i will throw a chatterbait almost everyday but dont know that i will throw a crankbait deeper then 15 ft much the reason i was having a seperate rod for frogs and swim jigs then my flipping and pitching was so if i miss a blow up on the frog i could throw a heavier trig right away so i could drop 4 and ues i can drop 7 bit dont know what rod i could use for topwater and jerkbaits

Thank you for your response. I am really trying to figure out how to get some things to pull double duty.

What rods
So i would want my light jig rod and my spinning set up to be my most sensitive. Makes since.
-
What rods
Ok guys what 2 rods in a line up do you want to be the most sensitive.
-
Loomis
I habe no way to field test new rods thats part of the problem.

Loomis
My criteria is made in the US and 300 or under unless it is for a rod that i need to spend more on. And all rods will not be purchased at one time they will be purchase through out the winter
-
Loomis
With loomis i dont know that i would spend the money on GLX with being a co angler so would get IMX and E6X the tackle shop i go to is a loomis dealer sp of course they say loomis is the best. But then i also saw a St Croix LTB that fits the bill for at least in rod with the specs that i want. Im pretty surethat my crankbait will end up being a loomis fiber blend crankbait unless i jear of a better one for the money.

Loomis
Ok but are st croix still mad here in the USA

Im trying to stay under 300 per rod and need some of them to pull double duty. I need to get a crankbait rod replace my ned rig/drop shot set up and replace my light jig set up. I also need to get a new frog rod but am looking at a different brand for that.

Loomis
NHBull i am looking at getting 1 e6x a couple imx and then 1 from the fiber blend crankbait series.

Loomis
And for $250 and under what would you go with that is still made here in the USA

I know i have a post about IROD but am also curious about loomis what lines are worth the money.

IROD rods
I am actually looking at all of the IROD rods the things that worry me about the freds magic stick is that it is a 7'5 length and with only being 5'9 thats on the long side for me for working a frog
-
IROD rods
Does anyone here use any of the IROD gensis II rods if so what do you think if them more specifically freds magic and bubs punch rod

Arsenal for co angler
I know that on game day i cam only bring 5-6 i would never try to bring 7 or 8 rods with me as a coangler. Am just trying to figure out what i do need to own and am appreciating the responses

Arsenal for co angler
Yes your right amd i agree 2 and 3 are interchangeable and if i was fishing a lake that didnt have big weed beds then both wouldnt go but i also love to throw frogs and flip and pitch so was doing that so i didnt have to tie on a punch setup after the frog bit turned off.

Arsenal for co angler
Happy Labor Day everyone i am trying to put together a good arsenal for myself as a co angler i understand that you want to keep it to 5-6 rods i know some bring 7 rods here are the 7 that i feel like i need but will have an 8th at home depending on what the lake is doing that i can swap for a different one. 1. 7' medium mod-mod fast spinning 2. 7'6 h-xh f flipping pitching heavy jigs swimbaits 3. 7'3 hf frog swim jig 4. 7'2 mh modf cranks chatterbait spinnerbait buzzbaits 5. 7' mhf lighter trig and jigs 6. 7' m mod cranks up to dt10 7. 6'9 med xf topwater and jerkbaits My biggest question is can i combine number 6 and 7 or do i need a seperate rod for those i will also have an extra spinning setup at home for when i am fishing for smallies I live in Minnesota anf need help with this thank you

Finesse vs power
I actually didny start out finesse i started with top water amd chatterbaitamd didnt get anything even though my boayet got his limit with in 2 hrs on a chatter bait. I went to the ned rig because i wasnt getting any bites
-
Finesse vs power
The lake was really calm bluebird day and was extremely clear water
-
Finesse vs power
So this weekend in my second ever club event i noticed all of my fish come from finesse technique and more specifically the Ned Rig. I did not catch my limit i only got 4 for a total of 7 lbs yesterday bit 3 werr on the ned rig 2 2 1/2 lb smallies in 30 ft of water and the fourth was on a weightless t rig senko. Everyone else in the club was having success on chatterbait and top water i just can not seem to ever get a bite on anything other then finesse.
