  1. That is a good one!!!!! Congrats
  2. Make sure you check the warrenty before you buy, most of the the warrenties for Japanese rods are really bad, if you're going to put out $400-500 for a rod make sure you have some protection, just in case you or your fishing buddy breaks your rod, I was thinking about getting a rod from Japan, the only problem is you can't feel it, if you don't like the way it feels when you get it your basically stuck with it, or have to sell it. Ginrinpeche has some good deals on E-bay
  3. G. Loomis GLX MBR783C Shimano Calais 101A
  4. I think it's excellent for certain applications, I use the 10lb for crankbaits and traps, and I use the 12lb sometimes for spinnerbaits, very strong, good price and it doesn't get weak like regular mono does after long periods of use, therefore lasts longer
  5. If anybody is looking for a zillion, also try Ginrinpeche on e-bay, he has some really good deals if he has them in stock
  6. I was always a Shimano guy also, I have a Calais, which is probably the smoothest and best baitcaster I've ever used, but I have to tell ya I saw the Zillion at Cabela's last year and bought the 7:1 red model, I liked it so much I bought the gold 6:3 model, if you buy one you won't be disapointed I used the 7:1 model for rattlebaits and crankbaits, excellent
  7. Thanks for the report, I think I'm gonna pick one up for my GLX worm and jig rod
  8. Any idea where to look for this? I just googled it and came up with nothing. Tommy Check out kimstrickerproductions.com
  9. Check out Kim Strickters Smallmouth Neighborhood, that's a good one 8-)
  10. I like the Yo-Zuri Hybrid for Crankbaits, Spinnerbaits, Rattlebaits, because it's so strong and I can use lighter lines and not give up on strength For spinning I usually use Bass pro Excel or Cabela's proline in clear blue fluoresent so I can see it better
  11. I just started using hair jigs this season, and noticed that they just don't work for smallies but largemouth also, I ended up catching my biggest bass of the year on them, not a smallie but a largemouth 5.4lbs, my best set up to fish these is a spinning rod M-MH 10lb test and a black and blue 1/4oz bucktail hair jig w/a blue tiny salty chunk as a trailer, I ended up catching the majority of my bass on this combo at the end of the season, I'd like to know what sizes, techniques, what type of hair and what seasons you guys fish em, feel free to voice your opinion
  12. I just joined the site and I wanted to post a pic of myself, tried a couple of things but couldn't figure it out, any help appreciated
  13. Congrats on those smallies, we don't see them that big in the North, LOL
  14. I have a Stella also, same model as yours, I love it When I put it on my GLX, it felt kind of heavy, I thought it felt more balanced on my IMX PS Nice Smallies how much did those two weigh?
  15. Does anybody have one, I was thinking about getting one, but haven't seen any reviews, any info appreciated
