  1. Took back to my friend. This morning I realized it wouldnt make it to back yard with out getting on neighbors yard. My home sets on a pie shaped lot. In AZ we avg above 100 from May into Oct at times getting above 110. I talked to a friend that owns a boat he uses it 4x a year. I didnt want to invest $15,000 and not use it often. Figured a small investment wouldn't hurt. Another friend told me to look at bass tracker boats. I have about 6'-6" to get it thru. @Way2slow that boat felt heavy towing it. It was under a cover and a roof but seemed heavy. Full size dodge 1500 with a hemi. Thanks everyone for advice. I am not done shopping tho I plan on having a boat before end of year.
  2. Not convinced just hoping. No money has changed hands. Nothing is final till I hear from mechanic.
  3. Trailer i can make safe. I planned on changing bearings and buying new tires. I will replace straps that hold boat on trailer. Thinking cost about $250. I think this would be my cost 2 tires $300 3 batteries $450 windshield $200 Straps and bearings $250 Mechanic worst case $1,800 Am I missing something? What is this boat worth $5000 to $6000 ?
  4. A friend offered his boat and trailer for $2000. I have picked it up to take to a mechanic since boat has been sitting for 3 years. What I see already all 3 batteries are missing but they would of have had to be replaced. Windshield is broken. I need to look in gas tanks to see if it has gas they seem empty. Upholstery and carpet look good. It does need tires. Talking to a mechanic he said minimum of $1,400 to $1,800. That seems high but this would be my first boat of any size so not sure if its a good quote. But was running before it was parked. I really dont want to be so deep into it that I would never be able to sell and upgrade. Is this worth buying I had planned on buying a used one for around $5000 towards end of year.
  5. They are ringing up at the register for $39.98

gnobsaz you probably have me confused with someone else. I have never fished a tournament and just getting back to fishing. Thanks for the welcome
  7. Thank you both. 2 rods and a reel are ordered hopefully by next weekend I get to try them out.
  8. Sorry my age showed lol I bought it from Ebay new for $129.00 plus $10 shipping. I will order the Irod 703CC to use with the 201I. Now that I have The combos set up what line do you suggest? I also see Tackle Warehouse has spinning reels on clearance would any of those work as my 3rd setup?
  9. I see what you mean I decided on the Fury series FR 734C. Everywhere I look its goes for $110. Now for my second bait caster. I see that you said 6.3-1 ratio the Shimano 201I fits that ratio and I found it for $219. Should I stay with same rod manufacture and get the Fury FR705C?
  10. Curado for top water. I would like to have 2 set ups to do as much as possible. Then be able to add more gear in the near future.
  11. I just bought this reel and looking for recommendations for what rod to get in the $150 range. I also would like to buy a reel and rod to use with crank baits with in the $300 range. These will be my first bait casters. Thanks for advice

I been lurking for the last few weeks reading and hoping all the good information I have read stays in my head. I used to fish 3 times a month with friends, didnt matter what we fished for or caught, then we all seem to find other interest. I have started fishing again and enjoying it so much. I just didnt realize how scientific its become. Thanks for having me here. Paul
