LonnieP, Thank you very much for that information. All of my fishing rods and reels are spinning. I do not own any casting rods and reels. Sometime, next week I will try a Spinner Bait. You take care and have a great week.

How well does Spinner Baits work when using a spinning reel? Does a Spinner Bait have to be near the surface to catch fish?

Is this a good time of the year to throw one of these. I have been looking at Rapala's X-Rap's and Smithwick Devil Horses. Which one of these do you prefer and what's your favorite color. I live in western PA. about 50 miles east of Pittsburgh. Also, do you have a preferred method of fishing them.

When fishing either of the above mentioned top water lures, do you always have to wait till all the rings have disappeared before you start your retrieve?
