  1. I responded more for someone who comes to the the forum lurking for answers/opinions than to answer the OP' question.
  2. Stren is the only braid I've ever broken on a hook set. Power pro and suffix 832 hasn't ever snapped on me during a hook set (yet). I use 20# pp on my spinning reel and that has never snapped on me even using it on a fairly stout MH rod.
  3. P line fluoroclear is a copolymer monofiliment coated In fluorocarbon not actually fluorocarbon itself. Still good line and less stretch than typical mono. I use it myself on a couple bc reels because I feel like it gives me the best of both worlds as an all around general line. As far as loops on your Palomar knot I usually use a normal single wrap with copolymer.. but it being 20lbs test I'd do two.

  5. I own two PQ reels. I bought them at the exact same time during the spring classic two years ago. One as a combo and the other as a box reel. Both are the exact same besides the gear ratios. (Actually the box reel came without the "pro qualifier" label on the frame above the line guide). When I bought mine the combo and the box reel were both on sale. I got the reel for $50 plus tax and the combo was around $120-130 plus tax. If the reel is different from combo to box it's just because of where they were manufactured not because of how they're sold. In conclusion I wouldn't feel bad about your purchase. I love both of my PQ bait casting reels and I feel they're one of the best reels you can buy for under $100.
  6. I don't know what the PQ2 goes for on sale. But I bought the PQ1 for $50-55 plus tax during the spring classic sale. Best baitcaster I've bought for $50. I have a 6.4:1 and a 7.1:1 and I have to say I have been glad I was using the 7:1 worm fishing a couple times when the fish has swam right towards me. The 7:1 just kept up with him maintaining a tight line reeling as fast as i could. I use my 6.4:1 for everything else.
