  1. Hey Guys, I am currently living in Canada, Ontario and in the market for a new rod that is powerful, well balance, light, versatile, and sensitivity. I had a topwater topic before but I've been doing a lot research on here and other site. I've been looking at G Loomis, St.Croix and stumbled on Megabass. I'm still fairly new to bass fishing its my 3rd season so far and I think its about time for me upgrade my arsenal. I'm hoping you can help me out with that, I'm in the market for 2-3 rods, since I don't own a boat I typically don't want to carry too much set ups with me. Also pardon my knowledge in term of the lures I suggest for the rods since I’m quite new to the game I may suggest incorrect lure combination for the rods I’m seeking. 1st setup: Reel - MGL 150XG 8:1:1 - Lures Wgt: 1/4oz or 3/8oz and Tungsten(depends on water depth) Jig/T-Rig/C-Rig/Creatures/Beavers - this is what I typically use for places that have weeds, lilly pads, heavy cover places, which most of our lakes are filled with. I was looking at the Megabass EMFT or the Perfect Pitch. I don't use jig all too much but I've read rods with MH or Heavy rods could go with that set up and depending on the environments and surrounding I may take out the T-Rig or whatever and switch it to a Jig. 2nd setup: Reel - Core 50MG 7:1::1 - Lure Wgt: Popper/Spook - 1/2 oz, JerkBait - 3/8 oz Topwater (Popper/Spook) and Jerk Baits – This is the ideal lures I plan to use on the rod. I’m looking at the Orochi XX Flat Special vs Orochi Jerkbait Special. I’m also worried since I don’t have a boat and rent aluminum boats whenever I fish, I’m worried the rod would bang into the boat whenever I use the baits. I'm 5'10 so i was thinking maybe somewhere around 6'8 or 7' max with Med and Fast action. 3rd setup: Reel Core 100MG 6:4:1 - Lure Wgt - Spinnerbait 1/2 oz - 3/8oz , Crankbait 1/4 oz - 3/8 oz Crankbait/Spinners – This is what my 3rd rod ideal usage would be. I can’t figure out which rod would be the best use these lure I want to its fullest potential. I was thinking of maybe Flat Special again or the Spinnerbait Special. As you can tell I'm leaning more towards the Orochi XX line, however I’m open to suggestion of other Rods that would be better suited then the ones I’m looking at. Sorry for the long email and appreciate for any input or direction. Cheers!
  2. Hi All, I'm currently doing some research on my next arsenal set up and I've chosen top water as the focal point. I'm still fairly new to the world of bass, I am mainly going to be using spook, popper and the occasional buzzer. I currently have a MGL XG 8:1:1 that I am thinking of pairing it with. I've decided on a medium rod, however I'm having trouble deciding Moderate or Fast Action. Please share your input. I was looking at these: St.Croix Glass Legend - LGC610MM 6'10 Medium, Moderate action or G Loomis IMX 802C Top Water - 6'8 Medium, Fast action Thanks
