  • About Me
I've loved fishing my whole life with a particular interest in smallmouth bass.
I don't own a boat so fish mostly from shore.
I love throwing jerkbaits and topwater.
I'm still looking for that 5lb+ smallie(although I've come close)

  1. Power pro spectra 10lb on spinning setup.
  2. Thank for the reply A-Jay. Where I fish there are usually small schools of tiny minnows and crayfish(some smallies have coughed these up while fighting them). I will have to check out the Ito Wakasagi pattern(I smell a purchase!?)
  3. The Megabass Vision 110 is a great jerkbait. I have had some success with the GG Perch OB in clear water. What are some other colors that produce in clear water? Any input is greatly appreciated!
  4. A super spook jr. in red head. I've had great luck catching big smallies with this bait, plus it's so much fun to throw! It just feels right having one tied on. Love it!

Welcome! This is the best place for bass fishing info. Lots of knowledgeable fellow fishermen willing to share advice.
  6. I bought a black jitterbug a few weeks ago but haven't had the chance to use it. I cut off the tinny dull hooks that came with it, and replaced them with split rings and triple grip hooks(size 4). I can't wait to try it out as I've heard how productive it is at night. Might have to buy a buzzbait too!
  7. I've had great success with the 30 size in Nasty Shad color. Smallies love this bait! I only use this if the water surface is smooth as glass.
  8. Thanks Bluebasser86 for the reply. I just watched a couple videos of this bait in action. It kind of looks similar to a Sammy with the vertical position on the pause. I definitely won't be using a dressed treble. The main reason I am using this at night is the dark color and the fact that it's a pretty cool looking bait with plenty of detail. Also have to say that I love this forum!?
  9. I was thinking about buying a Duo Realis Pencil 85 in Shadow OB(black with orange belly) for topwater fishing at night for smallies. Has anyone had good success with this bait? If so, do you recommend swapping the rear treble for a dressed one or will it affect the action? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  10. Well done! You can't beat it! Congratulations!?Cheers!?

  12. LMB-Beetle Spin with black curly tail grub SMB-Super Spook jr. in saltwater version Red Head(swapped rear hook with dressed treble)
  13. I love the moment at the start of fighting a fish that it takes a bunch of drag letting you know that it is bigger than you had first thought. Combined with being hit on topwater=Adrenaline rush!!
