  1. Thanks Shane....Seed lake sounds great too. I have spent 50 years fishing deep clear lakes, Cumberland and Dale Hollow, Certainly in my wheelhouse. I am very familiar with the area. I have ridden motorcycles through the NC and GA mountains for years, the area is awesome! Hey Coach, thanks, I don’t fish for crappie much but have wet a light line in Weiss for paper mouths a few times. But never fished for bass there. Certainly a Great Lake!
  2. Thanks Koz... lake Wateree is exactly the kind of lake I have been looking for. I will proably check it out in a month or two. Thanks again!
  3. Ganggreen... Ky weather is a fickle lover. I can fish into December with air temps into the 50 and low 60s often. January and February CAN be as bad as your weather in PA with temps single digit and snow. Once in my 64 years I have seen Lake Cumberland frozen over... but have seen the backs of coves and creeks with a light cover of ice more often. But as I said it is fickle, this Feb was very nice above average temps and then March thru mid April very raw! In my area... Cumberland, Dale Hollow and Laurel Lakes cold temps means... go for the smallmouth bite. With age the cold bothers me more... that’s why I am looking for a place to fish further south with more moderate temps. Rahlow... thanks for the suggestion
  4. I live in southern KY on Lake Cumberland. Will be retiring soon and would like to find a lake in mid Georgia, Alabama or Mississippi to fish in colder weather. I would like to keep my drive to around 8hours that’s why I ask for mid state location. I am not looking for the big mega lakes but a lake without all the notoriety of the Guntervilles and Martins. I would like to fish it a couple of times in the summer to get familiar with the lake. Trying not to be too picky but a lake with suitable lodging would be a big plus. If you would share one of your honey holes I would be very grateful.
  5. I make a trip every year to Dewey and fish a few days. I really enjoy the lodge at J.Wiley and like the lake. I go early summer when I can fish points with jigs and plastics... Cumberland being my home lake, deep structure is in my wheelhouse.
  6. Yes I check out the sight from time to time. I live on Cumberland and also fish Laurel, Cedar Creek and Dale Hollow.
