Hey guys, I'm brand new around here, and fairly new to fishing. I started seriously fishing about a month ago and want to get even more into it, but I haven't been able to find any spots that I can go to even on a weekday. I live in Fresno/Clovis in California and the place I've fished the most so far is Bass Lake; however, its about a 45 minute drive so I cant just go there after work. The funny thing is the San Joaquin River is basically in my backyard but there's almost no access because it is all blocked off by private property. About a week ago, I did find a spot with access, and there the water seems to have pooled into larger masses with slower moving water. In these areas, there are a few areas with some buildup and some trees/bushes in the water. The only problem is that they are all on the side of the river that I can't access. Below I have attached a link with a labeled picture of the area I fish as well as the whole area around it. I know that there are bass here because I caught one last week, and have seen a few others caught. The major problem for me fishing here is that on a daily basis its about 100-105 here. While this isn't a problem for me, It means that the bass want to go to deeper cooler water, however, there isn't any "cool" water here. So that begs the question, where are the fish? I know it's plausible that there just aren't many fish there, but I have talked to multiple people who tell me that its a great spot with a lot of fish. I assume that means I am fishing it wrong, or at least not as well as I could be.

My gear thus far consists of:
6'10" Medium Heavy Bait-casting Rod
6'10" Light Spinning Rod (been doing drop shotting as it gets hotter and thats been working well)
4/0 EWG hooks
Dropshotting hooks and cylindrical weights (I dont know what they are called, but the guy at the store said they are for dropshotting)
A few different kind of soft plastics (worms, shad swimbaits, grubs, etc.)
A couple jigheads with skirts
A top water crankbait (I wanted to try it on the buildup that I realized I cant reach)
Any help/tips is greatly appreciated, sorry for the long winded post, but I'm super excited to get into this
