i dont know now i am so confused. holding this curado in my hand as it was on a rod, i had to turn the drag away from me to tighten it(counterclock wise if looking at handle side). im pretty sure my revo i turn it twords me. this is a left hand model if that makes a difference. thank you all for your help. super awesome.

ok i feel like an idiot now. i think i was turning the drag the wrong way so i was loosening instead of tightening. it is the opposite way to tighten and loosen as my revo.

its not. i have had it locked down and every single click in between.

the thumb bar seems fine. If you think it can be fixed I would love the help.

then my concern is that the reel was sold as brand new and it should not have been taken apart before. I apologize ahead of time do not know the correct term for the parts I am going to try to describe. When I remove the spool, the gold part on the handle side where the spool arm is inserted, that is what is not rotating correctly. the spool sits in there just fine but what turns it is slipping and not rotating the spool.

did not remove the handle. it is a brand new reel. i opened it up and was just looking at it and noticed something was up with the spool. so i suppose i will get in contact with the seller. It is not the drag. I have turned it every which way. here is a video of it

yep tightened drag and loosened drag as well as spool tension.

Hello I just purchased a new curado 201hg from ebay. When I turn the handle the spool does not turn correctly(like it is not making full contact with the gears?) and when the slightest tension is placed on the spool the handle and line guide turn fine but the spool stops. even when slowly turning the handle the spool will sometimes not turn. I took the spool out and where the spool sits in seems to be where it is not turning correctly. I do not think something is right but this is my first shimano so don't know if there is something easy to check before I contact the seller. I have adjusted the drag and spool tension and it does not make a difference. Thanks. Hope you kinda get the idea of what I'm saying.
