  1. My experience with Yatesville is it is very tough to fish before April 1. On that date they start catching water to raise it to summer pool. All the locals say the best fishing on this lake occurs when the water is rising. Give it three more weeks and things will really start to improve.
  2. I have not fished Yatesville this year but I did drive by the lake this past weekend. I live about 12 miles from the marina so I fish this lake quite a bit. The lake is down to winter pool, of course, and the water at the marina was very muddy. I suspect some pretty good water could be found in the heads of the creeks since we haven't had any rain or heavy runoff for a couple of weeks. Just be careful with the water drawn down, especially if you fish above San Branch. I am sure the water temps are really low as well but with the sunshine they are predicting and the stain in the water that should improve each day. Preacher
  3. I hope to fish Green River Lake in mid-April 2010. I have never been on this lake. Any help will be appreciated. Preacher
  4. On one of my first trips last year I ran my mercury outboard for 15-20 minutes with the oil advance rod disconnected. I only ran it probably ten minutes at near full throttle. No warnings sounded. I had been having trouble with the motor the previous day and I had taken the cover off and was poking around. I put the boat in the water on the day mentioned above and it still wasn't right so I took it to a shop. He discoverd the oil advance rod was off which I had inadvertantly knocked off the previous day checking gas line fittings, etc. The original problem proved to be a bad spark plug which was brand new. He checked the compression and said it was perfect. I haven't had any problems since and I have had the compression checked again by a different mechanic and he said the compression was right on the money. I have used the boat several times since then with no problems. I hope everything is okay. Does anyone out there have any ideas or is there something else I need to check? Preacher
