another boat charger question
I bought an XPS 5/5/5 from Bass Pro and so far it has worked great. It has brought all of my batteries to a full charge in less than 5 hours and I'm running the same set up as you. Link is below. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_74190_200003004_200000000_200003000_200-3-4

OXYGENATOR

OXYGENATOR
We were in a tournament this past Sunday and my live well did fine keeping all of the bass alive until 2:00 when we headed back for the weigh in. While running back the stand pipe got knocked loose and the LW lost most of the water. When we got about 2 miles from the weigh in site we stopped to see if we could hit a hog and when I checked the LW all of the fish were about dead. We were able to revive 2 of them but lost 3 which were all the bigger fish. I have a Nitro 170TF and I want to upgrade the LW. I'm thinking I will put in an overflow, replace the 500 GPH Pump with an 800 or 1000 GPH Pump, and add an OXYGENATOR. My question is has anyone used one of these and if anyone has a better idea on improving the LW I'd appreciatte suggestions. Oh and even with the 2 / 4 / 8 once penalty we still came in second. Had the fish not died we would have won so it cost us around $300. It's not going to happen again. >

Bass boat prop help
I have a 99 Bass Stream 15' with a 2000 Johnson Ocean Pro 90hp and I'm turning a Raker 13 1/4 x 22" pitch prop. The 90's top RPM is 5400 and the boat is doing 57 MPH per GPS. It seems as if a prop similar to the one I have will work for you. I can post a pic of the boat if you'd like so you can compare. Hope this helps. This boat is now for sale because I just bought a Nitro.

NITRO 800 LXS
Seems like a good deal to me depending on the overall condition of both the motor and boat. Average retail is around $6400. http://www.nadaguides.com/default.aspx?LI=1-24-38-5697-0-0-0&l=1&w=24&p=38&f=5698&m=1731&d=1600189290&y=1998&ml=T&gc=MR>c=MR

Any advice for selling a boat?
Craigslist is a great option. Most people I know have found their cars/boats through craigslist. I found all three of the boats I've bought over the last year including this one just a few days ago on CL. I'd try CL first. Good luck.

Any advice for selling a boat?
I'm in Florida and the next few months are great for selling bass boats. Fall, Winter, & Spring are the best months for fishing in Florida IMHO.

What Type of Boat do you fish with?
Nitro 1996 170TF with 2005 Johnson Saltwater Series 115. Just bought it and paid cash. Now I have to sell my other bass boat.

On Board Charger 2 or 3 Bank???
Thanks for the quick replies. I'm thinking a 3 bank and looking at this one below. It's on sale for $129 @ BPS. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SceneSevenDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10151&langId=-1§ion=Home&productId=-74190&scene7Path=BassPro%2f92898%3flayer%3dcomp%26wid%3d500%26hei%3d500%26fmt%3djpeg%26qlt%3d100%2c0%26op_sharpen%3d0%26resMode%3dtrilin%26op_usm%3d0.0%2c1.0%2c0.0%2c0%26iccEmbed%3d0&sourceName=images2%2f92500%2f92898.jpg&type=0&linkEnabled=false Anybody have this model?

On Board Charger 2 or 3 Bank???
I just bought a Nitro 170TF and it doesn't have an on board charger. My other bass boat has an on board charger which is 2 bank. It has a 12v TM. The Nitro has a 24v TM plus a cranking. If I were to remove my 2 bank charger and use it on the Nitro would it still charge both of the TM batteries if I only hook it to one of the batteries plus hook it to the cranking battery? It seems like it would although the charge time would take longer. I probably would be better off buying a 3 bank charger for the Nitro. Any suggestions appreciated including which on board charger to buy. TIA.

Johnson FICHT Motors

Johnson FICHT Motors
Here's a pic so you tell me if it's a FICHT or ETEC? ETEC would be great but I thought they came out in 2006. It also says Saltwater Series on it.

Johnson FICHT Motors
Anybody here have a FICHT Motor on their bassboat? I was about to buy the 2002 Nitro I posted in the other thread and a 1997 Nitro 170TF with a 2005 Johnson 115 FICHT Outboard became available too. I'm just wondering if anyone here has experience with this motor? I can buy it for less than the other rig so any info appreciated. TIA.

Nitro NX 750 Info
If the local Nitro Dealer had been open today I would have. I do plan on calling tomorrow but I thought possibly someone in this forum may have known. I did call BPS but the salesman I talked with couldn't tell me about the 2002 model. He'd only been there for 5 months.

Nitro NX 750 Info
I'm thinking about buying a 2002 Nitro NX 750 with a Mercury 115 outboard. I looked at the Nitro website trying to get info on the 2002 model but there are no arcives. Does anyone here own or has owned a Nitro NX 750 and do you know if there is any wood used in the boat? According to the site the current NX 750 has no wood in it. I can pick the boat up for $7K so I think it is a decent deal. The guy who owns it claims it will top out at 60 mph but with a 115 on it I think 55 mph would be pushing it. Any comments on this boat appreciated. TIA for any info on the NX 750.

Prop Question (Ballistic or Raker or?)
I'm going to get a new prop for my 1999 15' Bass Stream with a 2000 Johnson Ocean Pro 90. I noticed the cavitation plate is sitting an inch and a quarter below the bottom of the boat so I'm going to raise the motor so the plate is even with the bottom or just a hair above. Right now I have a SS 13 x 21 OMC stock prop that is kind of nicked up with a couple of good size dings. WOT is 5800 rpm and 57 mph on the gps. The Ocean Pro's top rpm is 6150 according to the manual and there is a governor that keeps it from going higher. Right now I'm either going to order a Ballistic 13 1/8 x 21 or Raker 13.5 x 22 SS Prop. Anyone use either of these props or have any suggestions? :-/

Review this 95 Cajun boat (Errrr, I mean Ranger!)
Congrats on the boat! No need to send anything. I'm just glad you found a decent boat at a good price. Enjoy it and go catch lots of fish. 8-)

Review this 95 Cajun boat (Errrr, I mean Ranger!)
You can find much better deals than the one you just looked at. I missed a 1997 Stratos with a 115 Evinrude that sold for $4800 by one lousy hour. I did find a 1999 Bass Stream though with a 2000 Johnson Ocean Pro on it for $3500 and the boat and motor had less than 100 hours on it but the gel coat was a bit faded. There are pics in this thread of both boats. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1175035024 The link below is for a 1995 Ranger and it's in your area. They are asking $8800 but taking offers. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/boa/308122116.html Keep looking and you'll come across a good deal.

No Oil Light Comes On Sporadically
Thanks for your reply. I think I'll try dumping the oil out of the tank which is over 3/4's full and was full when I got it. I've run about six gallons of gas through the motor so it would appear it is pumping oil. I'm hoping you're right and there is water on the bottom of the oil tank. I've had a few people tell me to disconnect the oil injection and just mix it in the fuel but since you're telling me the CRO Pump is close to bullet proof I think I'd like to keep it. By the way this 15 foot Bass Stream is doing 57 mph @ 5800 rpm turning a 13 x 21 prop and that's hauling my 260# fat butt and gear around. ;D

No Oil Light Comes On Sporadically
I've got a 2000 Johnson Ocean Pro 90 that is on a bass boat I just bought a couple of weeks ago. The no oil light keeps coming on and off on the tach. The motor seems to be getting oil as it runs fine and no alarms go off. The reservoir is in the boat and is 3/4 full. Anybody ever have a problem like this? I was thinking of disconnecting the oil injection but since a Johnson has a VRO oil pump I'm told it is a little more involved than just plugging the lines. Any suggestions appreciated.

New boat choices.....$$$$$$
You can find a great bass boat for 10K or less. Here's one I just missed which was a 1997 Stratos that was garaged kept when not in use. It was used on average once a month so there wasn't a lot of time on the motor. It sold for $5000 which was a steal IMHO. If you check the thread 99 Bass Stream you'll see what I just bought for $3500. Just keep looking and you'll find the boat you want for the price you want to pay. Good luck.

1999 Bass Stream 15' w/ Johnson Ocean Pro 90
The 97 Stratos below is the one I wanted but I missed it by an hour. It sold for 5K and that was a deal.

1999 Bass Stream 15' w/ Johnson Ocean Pro 90
I'm going to buy this boat tomorrow for $3500 which I'm thinking it's a great buy. The boat has no wood and all of the lids are aluminum. The gel coat is a little faded but that's not a big deal to me. The motor has less than 80 hours on it and the seller just put a new Minn Kota 45# trolling motor on it a few weeks ago. Anybody here have any experience's with a Bass Stream Boat or Ocean Pro Motor? If I could figure out how to post a pic I would but so far I'm not having any luck but I'll try anyway I will re carpet the boat including the black lids. I'm pumped!!!
