Currently a Tanker in the US Army. Been active for 8 months.

So i am pretty new to bass fishing. Here at Ft Stewart, GA we have several ponds that are open to fish and I just started last week and Ive only caught 1 fish. I go try out soft baits, swimbaits, crankbaits, etc. but i don't know it seems like i can't catch anything anymore. I have seen all the videos on youtube about bank fishing and i feel like that just doesn't work. I feel like there are no fish lol but i know there are. Is there anything im doing wrong? Like colors of baits, or when to use what and some of the ponds don't necassarly have points the have some grassy areas and some spots where the fish would be but nothing happens and Im getting a little discouraged not going to lie. So im just looking for some info on bank fishing anything would be helpful. Thanks.
