How do I fish a belly weighted fluke and a non weighted fluke
Ok so I’ve been trying to learn how to use a fluke I’ve never used one before I get it’s supposed to be some fluttering action in the water? Now I use zoom 4 inch flukes with 3/0 gamakatsu EWG hooks and belly weighted gamakatsu hooks now when I fish it weightless it does that fluttering thing if I pull my rod tip up if I use it weighted its a lot straighter but just falls down like a jig normally would so what I’m asking is how do y’all fish a fluke weighted none weighted shaker head or belly weight Ned rig mushroom head or roadrunner spinner weightless what type hook do you use? What I am asking is how do I move my rod to give it the right action? Now this is specific to my “Home” waters but I fish a dam with major current that pushes all stuff out onto the bank this is just an idea I had what if I casted out into that current and let the current do the work for me fishing it weightless of course thanks!-Slade What about a roadrunner spinner head with a paddle tail fluke trailer that would be ideal right?

Fishing a dam need help!!!
Ok I will try a smaller hook do you guys think some sort of boot tail fluke would be better since it’s just cast and retrieve I don’t have a kayak or boat of any kind so I can’t get to some spots that look really good with no current should I cast into the current or find areas with no current?

Fishing a dam need help!!!
Ok guys so today I tied to fish lake Wylie dam with a fluke weighed with a belly weight and unweighted the fish feed on shad there and I have seen people pull stuff in with flukes anything that imitates a shad works there or at least that’s what I heard the water is clear and it runs out into the ocean it has a current from the dam that pushes all bait to the bank it has an extremely rocky bottom I fished my fluke there and I got snagged under the rocks I went there with a ten pack of flukes and left with six I’m thinking of using a drop shot but I still think the current would push it out it’s pretty deep with steep drop offs around the bank if you guys have any ideas on what rig to use or what to use it would be greatly appreciated however I’d like to stick to things that involve flukes since that’s what works best here thanks one more thing they have striped bass and gar in this dam which are two of my favorite fish people catch striped with spoons here let me know good striped spoons and gar lures thanks!

Strike king redfish magic and snap swivels
Ok so I purchased two of those reddish magic lures at dicks sporting goods I’m trying to get two new ones because they where both jacked up right out of the packaging one of he hooks on one of them was bent and on the other the swim bait tail was messed up so anyway this is my question I use snap swivels because it is so much easier for me to just snap a lure on or off then tie knot after knot and waste line so I use spinner baits all the time and one of my favorite spinner baits is the beetle spin it’s the cheapest lure out there but it’s so simple and durable that it’s in my opinion one of the greatest lures of all time so I’m pretty sure everyone here is familiar with the safety pin style spinner bait with the loop to tie a knot in or put your swivel on the strike king redfish magic there is no loop just an indentation so what knot do you use on lures like this so that the knot will stay in place thanks.-Slade

Flourocarbon for big topwater lures?

Drop shot hook straightness and u tale worm
I’m really good with palomar knots it’s the knot I use for pretty much everything I use it because it’s very simple and fast I made two drop shot rigs 1 has the hook super straight and the other is sort of straight but more curved to the right I use 2/0 octopus hooks. I also do that thing where you put the tag end thru the eye Thanks for the info!-Slade
