  1. I run into this a lot fishing a local river that is pretty narrow and draws a lot of anglers from bass boats to jons to kayaks. Have been on the receiving end also. I'd say on average the width is 70 yards, i always slow way down to a creep to create no wake when people are in small jons or paddle boats, if they're in bass boats its almost better to stay on plane. The worst thing to do and i can speak from experience is to run up on plane and to quickly slow to an idle right at the traffic. This makes the boat plow water and can cause a lot of wake. a 20ft bass boat flying by on plane is a lot easier to handle than one coming off plane plowing a ton of water in your direction. It can get frustrating though on a long run on a busy day and constantly going from plane to idle, plane to idle, etc.
  2. I grew up fishing creeks and large farm ponds. 90% of the time it was in shorts and shoes and carried a couple spinning rods and a backpack with all my tackle. Some ponds were in overgrown fields so i'd wear jeans and boots to protect from briars. During the summer i'd kick off the shoes and wade the shallows to fish deeper. For bugs if wearing pants use sawyers spray to keep ticks and chiggers off! Don't spray on your skin!
  3. I started using silver thread AN40 last year and its impressed me. Use 8lb on my spinning rod and 20lb on my Jig/worm rod. I fish a lot of clearer water so wanted something tough and manageable and low visibility. I was considering flouro but decided on the Silver thread based on reviews and price above all else. One thing i will add is not to use a cinch knot when tying. Learned this lesson first trip out when i lost a few bass in the 3-5lb range throwing a fluke on the 8lb line. The line does have some stretch but its extremely tough. With the 20lb line I've yet to be able to break it on hang ups, have straightened and broke hooks trying to rip lures free. Was actually just about to order a new reel of 20lb and some 14lb for my jerk/spinnerbait rod.
