Help with my finesse reel/line
It was a finesse c rig with a 1/4 oz bullet weight, swivel and trigged senko. So I thought for sure it had enough weight that I wouldnt have any issues. I was very wrong.

Help with my finesse reel/line
Hey all, I recently got a president 25 for my finesse rig. I got it spoiled with 8lb seaguar red label flouro. Now it was spoiled by machine at a store. Maybe the guy did it wrong I’m not sure. However I have an extremely frustrating problem. I am constantly getting knots in it during cast and retrieve. I have added wait and casted it out and let it sit in the water multiple times, I’ve used KVD line conditioner several times. Nothing seems to help. I am at the point where I just want to change lines cause I don’t want to deal with it any longer. I’ve been looking at nanofil seems the reviews are split on it. I’ve thought of switching to braid and just using a leader. I’m not quite sure what to do or what line to buy. I just want something that will work I am using it for soft plastics, a finesse c rig, small crank baits. Im really at a loss here cause the flouro I got is kinda pricey and I can’t really use it.

Right In man yeah I like it I usually have luck with Trigged soft plastics and a Carolina rig. I have lost a lipless to a snag and a crank bait to a tree(courtesy of the wind) that’s the one downside about that place is there always seems to be a wind. I havnt had any luck on a whopper plopper there. I’m going to stick to finesse stuff so if I do get snagged it’s not an automatic 5 bucks down the drain lol. Im looking into a pond in league city called willow pond it’s in a subdivision but run and overseen by Galveston county so it’s open to the public.

Your favorite/most reliable baits for pressured lakes.
So far I’ve only ever gotten bites around stuff like this and there is quite a bit of it along with limbs and stuff. I don’t see many large ones around this stuff mostly very tiny or small bass. Occasionally there are some around 12 inches long but it’s few and far between.

I’ve got the terminal tackle for a finesse c rig. Should I got with 1/4 or a 1/2 bullet weight? That’s what I got lol. I’m putting it on 8 lb flouro. I plan on ordering some vmc wacky jig heads. So I’m looking forward to that. I plan on ordering some vmc wacky jig heads. So I’m looking forward to that.

Your favorite/most reliable baits for pressured lakes.
I have had a little luck with a fluke but frankly I dont really know how to fish one and its with my spinning rod I cant really tell what the bait is doing when I twitch it so its hard to tell if its doing what it suppose to. Plus, I cant get it that far out there and I think @WRB is right about them being out there deep. Which would explain why I don't see or hear of anyone catch big ones just small stuff.

Tom Bass Park 3 / Burke-Crenshaw park reports?
Hey All, I am wondering if anyone has fished the 2 parks mentioned, I have checked stocking reports looks like no bass have been stocked. I am going to guess that maybe the bass just didnt need to be restocked lol. Has anyone had any luck at this parks? Any other parks worth mentioning around the south houston/pearland/league city area?

I’ve been wanting to try there but it seems pretty popular and pressured. I’ve been having a decent time at the friendswood lake park but again on the weekends it’s pretty busy. I’m looking into 2 big parks in Houston hopefully I can get some advice on them. However I agree hard to find spots post Harvey most ponds are private or restricted to residents in that sub division. So finding a safe place to fish that’s not super pressured is tough. me neither on the alvin bit it’s a small town lol.

How exactly is a drop shot fished from the bank? I thought that was a boat technique . ?

Your favorite/most reliable baits for pressured lakes.
Not that I know of. It used to be a big sand or gravel pit until they hit a natural spring and it filled up on them. So they made it into a little park.

Awesome. Unfortunately I can’t fish it at night, but I’ll order some wacky rig stuff. As well as some Fat Ikas and more worms.

I am exploring that option as well, a lot of these subdivision ponds and stuff are private and/or for residents only. So my challenge is finding non overly crowded places that are not really far away.

Your favorite/most reliable baits for pressured lakes.
Hey BR, Over the past week I have noticed on this little lake I fish, again super clear water, but also it gets a lot more activity than I originally thought. Several kayaks and canoes in the water, several bank fisherman throughout the day. So the fish get a lot of stuff thrown at them. I do not see a lot of people catching anything but just a lot of activity. I keep managing to catch them on green pumpkin baby brush hogs but they are always small guys. I am looking to try some different techniques and baits as I am still learning. What do you guys go to or rely on when fishing pressured fish?

Top water recommendations for clear water
It’s possible they weren’t Bass. Maybe I gave up to easy on the plopper I threw it about an hour though early in the morning and nothing.

Top water recommendations for clear water
Hey all, The other day I tried my new 110 silent whopper plopper in silver/black. Didn’t get any luck. Yet fish were hitting the top of the water around me. I tried a spro frog also to no avail. Is the water just to clear? Am I fishing them wrong? Do I need to try some different top water baits, if so what are some suggestions? Ive tried walking the frog and I just can’t seem to get it to do it. Maybe it requires braid or something. The WP I tried straight retrieve and stop and go. Maybe the bass just weren’t in the mood lol.

Can’t seem to cast shad rap #5
I honestly didn't know about the casting differences for the different lines as it relates to spinning gear. I figured once I put it on spinning gear it would be just fine. I was going to use the spinning gear for weightless senkos and flukes so from what I read I figured FC would be the best route to go. I can always switch it out though. I can go pick up some mono or braid for the spinning reel and use a flouro leader if needs be.

Budget kayak that I will fit in.
Would the lengths you listed all typically be rated high enough in terms of weight capacity?

Can’t seem to cast shad rap #5
Appreciate the feedback I really didnt know much about the ccx when I got it(except it was buy 1 get 1 free and I was alright with that lol). I honestly may be switching out the CXX to just some simple 12 or 15lb mono. I am not confident enough yet in casting to throw flouro or braid on there just yet. Also, Ive only got the one rod so I use for top water all the way to carolina rigging.

Budget kayak that I will fit in.
Hey all, So I have been debating back and forth about my next investment in bass fishing. It was suggested a kayak would be the best investment I could make. So I am considering it. Here is my issue I am about 5'10 315lbs (but working on bringing that down ). I've got a car, no suv or truck. I am working with about a 300 - 350 dollar budget. So I am going to be browsing craigslist, offerup, let go, etc. What size, length, brands, style (sit in or sit on top), do I need to be looking for? Can I even find something that will fit me and be stable with the budget I have? What do I need to watch out for when buying a used kayak? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Can’t seem to cast shad rap #5
@Bluebasser86 to be honest I don't know much about crank baits so from what I have read and heard about crank baits is that you have to get them far out there so they have time to dive down and stay at that depth. That is where my conclusion came from that I need to get it way out there. I should probably research and study the shad rap a little more and get an idea of how to properly use it. The fish at this little lake I fish at I am desperately trying to get a reaction type bite from. I've got them on Texas rigged flukes and brush hogs but that's about it. I was hoping the shad rap would do the trick. Also, I will look at adding the baits you suggested might not be a bad idea to have something like that when the wind picks up or something.

Spike it questions
I was wondering what would happen, thank you for the heads up. I was fearing a chartreuse fire ball that would engulf my car lol. Im just going to have to move it in the house and either dip them before I head to my spot or the night before.

Spike it questions
I think my main concern applying it on when I get to my fishing spot. Is I primarily go fishing before work. So then this flammable liquid is in my tackle box, in my truck, in a black car, under the Texas heat. All day long lol Have you had much success with it? I plan to use it on a baby brush hog green pumpkin. Then Carolina rig it. It’s a very deep crystal clear water little lake. I’m hoping it does well.
