  1. Howdy, great to be here in a forum that is so rich with fishing information. Every search I do on the web always leads me here so I figured it was time I joined. About 8 years ago when moving from our old house into a new one, one of the movers asked me if I was going to take my fishing tackle, which at that time was about a half dozen rods and reels along with assorted tackle accumulated over the years from taking the family fishing. I told him he could have it all because I had come to realize that from childhood to now I didn't really know much about fishing and in my mind I promised myself that when I had time and opportunity in the future I would start over and learn right. I am now retired, widowed and all the kids are grown and I have almost completely grown grandkids. I am starting over now with a passion. I love fish I can eat, from sunnies to crappies and trout. Bass are great for the challenge but I am not crazy about them for table fare, but you can't get away from the fact that they are great sport. I have learned loads already from this forum and hope to continue to learn more in the future. Don't have a boat but it is a thought, once I get over the money I dropped on an old wooden rowboat that I bought while in college. That thing was a little money pit and it was just a row boat. God Bless you all, peace
