  1. Ok, I figured it out. The only difference between the Chirp and Plus model is that the Plus is touch screen. Nice to jave, but not worth an extra $300+ just for touch. And thanks ohboyitsrobby. After a little more research, I just bought two of these even though sideview isn't needed on my trolling motor. I will just use 2D sonar and down imaging. Can't beat a 9" screen for that price.
  2. I have recently retired from the military and looking to finally do some serious fishing. I am trying to watch what I spend on equipment. With that in mind, I saw a Garmin Echomap Chirp 93sv package for $599. The Echomap "PLUS" 93sv is $999. What is the real difference between the Chirp and Plus models? Would I be happy with the $599 model or end up regretting it a year from now? I do not fish every day, so I couldn't bring myself to consider shelling out the money for a Humminbird Helix 9si even though I have a Terrova trolling motor. Just looking for the biggest bang for the buck for a non-professional fisherman on a budget. Your opinions are greatly appreciated.
