  1. Here are the rest
  2. I have been busy and here are a few of the baits I've finished.
  3. When you Southeast La, are you talking Covingtion, Hammond, Slidell areas. I'm from Covington and there are not any true bass fishing lakes in that area. You will have to hit the local rivers and swamps around the area. There should be some bass clubs around there that can help locate some decent fishing. I have not lived in that area for 16 yrs so things might be a little different since I left.
  4. Nice looking natural shad baits. I'm still learning the foil technique.
  5. Even stranger, I have patients that swear by this stuff for joint pain. I can give them all kinds of recommendations for safe topical creams but they stand by the old wd40. Go figure. I don't use it on my lures and sure as hell I'm not going to rub into my skin. Anybody spitting bacca juice on their new LC cranks yet ;D
  6. Old timers did this because it was cheap. Most guys had wd-40 on hand and it worked. These guys did not give a crap about C&R unless they released the fish to a bucket. Anise is another old timer trick that was used with great success.
  7. Me like the pink trap.

Mike, those are some good looking baits
  9. I like the action in the 2nd video. If you want to try something really different, give that bait a big block head. Taper the last 2/3 of the bait and see what that action is like, it's good. I have a bait that is almost exact to yours but I don't taper the head. Glad you are having fun with this, keep up the good work.
  10. It's a great looking bait no matter what it's called. Reminds me of a Slammer.
  11. That's a good looking bait. The lip is different, what's the action like?

Createx make a clear you could spray and dry it with a hair dryer. Most other clears will take a longer time to dry. If you don't mind the drying time, minwax polyurathane should work fine.
  13. I've been using flex coat for 2yrs now and I've had no problems so far. It's a very similar product to e-tex.
  14. Nice looking baits I use Flex Coat Ultra V high build for my clear coat. I used Devcon for about 5yrs and imho flex coat is better. It's thinner than devcon so 2 coats is a must but it's not as brittle and does not yellow. Longer pot life after mixing, I could coat 6 of baits the size of yours from a mixed batch. You have to turn the baits for at least 2hrs while it cures.
  15. Me like them all.

    Sweet
  17. You just keep getting better with each batch. Nice work on all of those baits.
  18. The top color is Bobby Kelly's Shell Cracker. You did a very nice reproduction of that color. All the baits look really good.
  19. Jon, the bait looks great as is with a very nice action. If you want try something, put the line tie right on top of the lip or in the lip right in front of the nose. I'm afraid the lip has too much angle to tighten that action up very much. You could try a 20 degree lip angle with the line tie right on top of the lip. You have a couple of baits with that combo in your box

Finally finished up another batch, this one is mixed with flat sides, semi-round, and round bodies. Deep runners, med divers, and shallow divers. I hope ya'll like.
  21. All of those baits look top notch, great work.
  22. That may be your best work yet, great looking bait.
  23. I used standard kitchen foil and all started out silver in color. On the two baits where the foil looks kind of gold, I shot createx flo yellow over the foil.
