Two Questions About The Daiwa Zillion SV
Do those reels backlash as little as the SV spooled reels? The Tat SV rarely overruns.

Two Questions About The Daiwa Zillion SV
Hmm, surprised to hear that the CT outcasts the Zillion SV. With the Tat SV, backlashing is almost a non-variable, so I guess distance with that SV control is what I’m interested in with the Zillion SV. Ill keep an eye on pinion grime, new to me.

Two Questions About The Daiwa Zillion SV
I wonder if that is typically the jdm that has the better bearings? After some research all I could find was a drag difference—11# on the jdm, 13# on the US. Yeah, it is.

Two Questions About The Daiwa Zillion SV
Ok, just purchased the Tatula SV, and after learning the reel, I like it so much I’m thinking about selling (returning) it! (That is, for the price I paid, I can nearly get the Zillion SV, which offers more distance and refinement from what I gather.) So, question one: is the Zillion SV that much better than the Tatula SV? If so, in what way? I want a good all-around reel and seek distance and control. The Tatula SV has both, but again, for near the same price, I’ll take more if the Zillion offers that. So then, question two is:how does the jdm Zillion SV differ from the US version? Thanks!

Tatula SV Problem
Ok, cool. For what I paid bps and what I can get a Z SV for on the auction site, might have to...return, refund, rebuy.

Tatula SV Problem
Thanks for the info. I’ve had that happen with a Tourney MB once. The pinion slips I think when this happens but will realign eventually. Is the casting distance and smoothness significantly greater with the Zillion SV?

Tatula SV Problem
Thanks all. Fished the reel, not an issue, just needed a load. This reel can really sling a lure, much more distance than I expected. Makes me curious about the Zillion and Steez reels.

Tatula SV Problem
Yeah, but it was the same on EVERY reel! Somebody else has got to have this problem...or will soon.

Tatula SV Problem
Thanks. Yeah, don’t think it will be a big problem, but never having seen a bad word against these reels, it really surprised me.

Tatula SV Problem
First post here, so I guess i should say hello to start. Long time lurker here, seems like a great forum— your advice is appreciated. So, I bought a new Daiwa Tatula SV recently. Got it home, spun the spool around before putting on line. Everything was normal, and then, the reel felt slow, wound kinda milky. When I pushed the spool, it clicked a second time even though the thumb bar was already up. Clicked the thumb bar again, spun the handle, fine. Then, once every 10 to 40 times, it would do it again. Winds slower, like its gummed up, then, touch the spool, it clicks, and back to normal. So, I took the reel back to BPS, explained the situation, and no one knew the answer. When we tried the other Tatula’s, they did the same thing. Four in total! So, is this a Daiwa thing, a defect or do I just need line? This is my first Daiwa reel and I’m excited to fish it, but I’d like to know what this is before I settle in. Anyone else familiar with this? Should I return it? The Zillion SV does look nice...
