Thanks for the input, the thing is I've never really had issues until I bought this reel. I've watched videos but haven't seen this one before! Will definitely try soaking the spool and hope it takes some of the memory out! Thanks!

I’ve been fishing spinning reels my whole life and decided to finally get myself a nice one and bought a Penn Battle 3000. I like it but I definitely have more issues with it than my cheap reels as far as casting and the line tangling/kinking mid cast. It’s gotten to a point where I probably won’t buy another penn reel. So before I give up, is it possible that it could be this particular reel, and if I replace the spool or something the issue won’t be as bad? I just put a whole new spool of 8lb test on yesterday, by the end of the day I had no line because I had to keep biting off the line and re tying from so many knots forming. I don’t get it.
