My early bass fishing was in the backseat fishing behind my Dad, who loved to fish tournaments at a time when 20 pounds for 6 fish on Minnetonka would put you 'in the money'. I was fortunate to be able to fish as a press observer in 6 B.A.S.S. Classics with many of the legends of the sport. Talk about learning from the pro's! Here's a pic of my personal best from Guntersville Lake in Alabama. Those are memories I will always treasure. We didn't have camera phones, hell we didn't even have digital cameras yet, shot mostly film so we just had to rely on memories back then. Now I live on the Mississippi River in central Minnesota and fish mostly smallmouth bass in skinny water, many times using a fly rod.
